Mine is flexible but thats because there is such a mixture of various contracts and contractors / consultants that no-one really knows whats going on.
Also, once you've used all your hollibobs you can buy more off the business or not take your entitlement and sell them back etc...
taking half a day at short notice to the split to the airport wouldnt be a problem unless I had an important meeting to attend or the likes so your situation is a a poor effort by your employers...
