Here you go mate, I always stay here. Nice people, clean accommodation. Over a park from a big pub that does a cracking steak and cheap booze! About 10 mins drive to Alton Towers!

I normally do it the other way round, drive up early in the morning, do the park, then book in to hotel get pissed, good meal and wind down. 4+ hours journey AFTER being at the park all day would be a killer!

Another vote for the Tea Cup's !

Seriously though, just sack it off until the end of the season, go when its p1ssing down and you can just walk off one ride onto another, 8 goes on Oblivion is just about enough for anybody, Air is boring and Nemesis is still the best all round ride but havent been on Rita yet.

Wink

Looks like a nice place, don't think I've staryed at that one before. You've saved enough to go back again compared to the Dick Turpin hotel on site.

Went 3 weeks ago, for £5 you can buy a fast track ticket which you can use on oblivion nemessis air & bath ride(flume) but you can only use it once on each ride.if your taking kids with you its worth it, if not you can go in a single riders entrance if you dont mind sitting next to strangers.if you get there early i would go on the biggest rides first as the waiting times are shorter.
I waited over an hour for charlie & the chocolate factory (rubbish) its not worth the wait.

Got to the park at 9.30, drove straight in, on the monorail straight to the ticket booth with no queues, used our half price vouchers and did the whole park two times over and left at 4.30 and back to parents in Kent by 8pm tonight to pick up B2Z junior.

Went on Corkscrew twice, Rita twice, Air 3 times, Oblivion once (brown pants time ) Nemesis twice, the spin ball whizzer once (although isn't built up as much its makes you think its going to chuck you off every corner ) the log flume (got soaked), the rapids (got soaked again), run away train 3 times round on one session as no one queueing so bloke didn't let us off until more people turned up and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The Mrs also went on Rip Saw but I wouldn't go on it as not my thing (first impression was fek that!)

Great day but having done that lot I couldn't have done any more as my organs were just about coming away from their seams.

Virtually no queues all day, the longest being Oblivion due to the technical faults.

Had quite a few technical faults during the day which was a little off putting especially as we were just getting on Oblivion when they said there was a problem with it. But also showed what incredible safety features they had, one of our rides on Air shut down at start up just because the Mrs seatbelt wasn't tight enough. Tightened it and then it went off fine.

A top day out
Ripsaw is actually not nearly as bad as it looks! Those kind of rides are actually good fun and not particularly nauseating. If you can handle the costers you'll have no problems.

Oblivion is great isn't it! Busch Gardens recently installed another B&M dive machine in their Florida park. It has a 200ft vertical drop, an inversion and a further vertical drop underground leading into a watersplash finale!!

Americans....always have to go one up.

And for all the coster nuts out there: the ultimate vertical drop coster, so extreme, they've closed it for alterations!! Yes, the cars were even fitted with LAP BARS ONLY!!!!
