Aaaaargh steady on Matt ![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Cheers for the list
Westfield/Caterham will be my intended future car cos I want to build one. As I need a decent garage first, to house one let alone build one, they are off the list for now ![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
So many things to consider

Not a cheap runabout (although it's the second cheapest Nissan to service AIUI, the first being the Micra)

Hmmmm, going on a previous suggestion, the Nissan 200sx look to have quite a nice power to 2nd hand purchase value ratio
Rear wheel fun for sub 10K.....hmmmmm

Got to be a Saxo VTS - had one before my scooby.
Easily as much fun round the corners with plenty of (controlable) lift-off oversteer. One of those cars that everyone should own/have a drive in at least once - such a laugh.
Only group 14 insurance, 20mpg if you floor it, 45+mpg on a steady run. Only down side is they're becoming a bit 'MaxPower' image (although these are mainly VTR's).

This is richards brother with the GTi6 and it is by far the most incredible front wheel drive car. The handling is not really comparable with the zaraand the performance is actually better in the 306 as well.
It is also a better looking car and a nicer spec as well. Myn is unfortunately up for sale but it is £11200 as it is 2 years old with 29000 miles.
I bought and insured this car at 18 but the insurance was under my mums name so i couldn't comment on that other than i was paying £600 a year fully comp.
It costs very little to run, i get 360 miles out of a 60 litre tank and is a great little car for the motorway as well as the little twisties.
Myn is on 17" momo GT2'lowered 45mm, pipercross induction kit and 3.5" scorpion exhaust.
I was even with a lotus elise in a mad dash on the M1 and then had to back off behind a golf VR6. I found this suprising but the 6 speed box really does help. 6th isn't needed until 120-125mph, although i dont drive myn like that at all.
Anymore questions, dont hesitate to ask.
Servicing has never been a problem as i have always done it myself.

Aye mate, and it's very well done too ![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
Still making my mind up with what I'm gonna do. Missus told me the other night that there is no rush with moving and told me not to go off on one of my whims and sell my motor now.
I'll be waiting now until next year when we start looking for the next house before I decide what to do. At that point, I might be able to pay off the rest of the finance on the Scoob (or most of it anyway) and then keep it. It's all up in the air until then![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

I had a 106GTi before my Subaru (MY00 turbo). It was an absolutely fantastic car. Powerful (for it's size) + eye popping handling (better than my Subaru IMHO!). Take one for a test drive, go fast roung a roundabout then lift off!!!! Get ready with that opposite lock
(Don't do it in the wet tho
) A chimp could drive one and look like McRae.
Running costs are peanuts compared to the Scooby. Insurance was £500 (23yr old with a brabd new car), servicing was normal Peugeot stuff. The only problem I had with mine was one of the heated mirrors packed up.

106GTI. IMHO much better than the VTS, though the VTS I test drove must have been a bad 'un as it was nowhere near as much fun as the 106.
Take the 106GTI for a test drive...

Hanslow > nice one
Well, you might as well try and keep the scoob then.
Disco > thanks for the compliments, you can see why I want to keep it as well as getting a scoob
