Was there anything about there new hand-held that they are bringing out? Looks like a worthy challenge to the PSP
Scheduled for 2007 I believe.
I can't deny the 360 is looking more tempting, particulary if ex-Final Fantasy people are working on games for it![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Call me a hermit, but I still find Live uninspiring, unless it's against mates only. I don't really enjoy playing against people I don't know!!!!

...or he wipes you out in the last corner in some last ditch effort to pass knowing full well they'll use you as a brake ![Frown](images/smilies/frown.gif)
Still can't disagree, MS have really got the 360 marketing right. Sony are basically relying on customer loyalty for the PS3.

LOL @ bob, if only that was the case ![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
Actually I remember playing against 3 or 4 nice chaps in America on PGR2 on the XBox. I turned off my headset mic as I just wanted to race. Took it cautious to start with, slowly crept up then left them all behind. I was being cursed in my ears which I found vaguely amusing, but then finished the race and went to another one with other folks.
Can't deny that MS have marketed their stuff really well and have got the Live stuff spot on for the people that like that. I like my 80+ hour role playing games evolving a single character, or team, through a whole unfolding story. Prefer them to the short burst blast games.
I'll be sorely tempted with a PS3 when the new Final Fantasy games come out, but I still may wait until the second revision when all the teething troubles are fixed and the price has dropped.

I got that on my PC. Sort of stopped playing it now at about 79 hours through. Done all the guilds and main quests and just can't be bothered with anymore side quests. That's the sort of game that I will readily buy to keep my interest. Not much of a story on it, but good freedom. Nothing to fill the gap yet though. I have Final Fantasy XII on order for my birthday pressie (birthday was beginning of Feb!) and it's hopefully due the end of this month after slipping continually
That'll eat another 60-80 hours of my life away too

Looks like Frame City Killer has been scrapped, probably a good thing ![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
Plus the long awaited dashboard update is on the way end of May. It will feature a download manager for 6 parallel downloads in the background. they also mention that there will be a lot more features in there but it will be a surprise and they won’t talk about it! The downloads will also run while a game is played . . . about time

I was playin the motogp demo earlier and thinking how much better it would be if I was in a F1 car. Are there any F1 games being released on 360?

We got confirmation from Boris Schneider-Johne (Senior Product Manager Xbox Platform and Accessories, Microsoft Germany) that a huge Dashboard Update will arrive at the end of May!
Features include background downloading and having multiple downloads at once.
The user marks a file to download and it will be put in an active queue downloadlist. There are 6 slots reserved in that queue. They will be downloaded sequentially not in parallel! If the Xbox360 sees there is bandwith available it will boost the download speed up. During online sessions the downloads will be paused to garantee no lags. It's also possible to turn off the console, after powering it back on the downloads will resume. When a download finishes the user will get a message that it has been downloaded.
He also mentions that there will be a lot more features in there but it will be a surprise and he won't talk about it!

This from joystiq:
Rumor: 360 wireless gaming receiver $20; wheel $130; headset $60; camera $20; Halo and Forza faceplates $20

360 wireless gaming receiver for the PCThanks to a reliable source from Microsoft, we've learned some important details about the new peripherals announced for the Xbox 360, including pricing and a few Halo faceplate (non)specifics. Check out the leaked info and prices below:
* 360 wireless gaming receiver (which enables wireless 360 controllers, headsets, and wheels on your PC): $20
* Wireless racing wheel: $130
* Wireless headset: $60
* Xbox Live Vision Camera (with headset, one month of Live Gold, and one arcade -- presumably Xbox Live Arcade -- game): $40
* New faceplates for Halo (with the Master Chief on 'em, but not Halo 3 specific) and Forza (no word on connections to the sequel): $20 each
* 256 MB portable memory unit (MU): no official price yet, but definitely not four times the cost of the older 64MB MU
Besides acknowledging that the PC is "the biggest gaming device of all," MS appears to be setting an agressive price for its most relevant new PC accessory, the wireless gaming receiver (at least in comparison to the outrageously priced 360 wireless networking adapter). Unfortunately, no price was revealed as of yet for the USB-based HD-DVD add-on.
We've speculated in our recent podcasts as to what would happen to the various 360 SKUs when price drops inevitably occur. An interesting theory bandied about by prolific Joystiq Contributor epobirs (on our earlier bump-to-256MB-MU post) was that a $20 price drop for the Core system, coupled with a $20 price drop on the 64MB MU, would finally allow folks to pick up a capable non-Premium bundle for the original $300 Core price point. (Not a bad way to undercut PS2 memory card prices, too.) We hope to get official confirmation on this info in the not-too-distant future.

Assassins: Creed PS3 Demo at E3 Running on Xbox 360 ?
>> We don't really have much to back up this story except that it was posted on IGN for a short amount of time:
Was the article removed because it was false or because IGN got a call from Sony or Ubisoft? Guess we'll never know. Still a funny story to start the weekend

Assassins: Creed PS3 Demo at E3 Running on Xbox 360 ?
>> We don't really have much to back up this story except that it was posted on IGN for a short amount of time:
Ubisoft Montreal revealed its next incredible project, Assassins: Creed, exclusively for PlayStation 3 at E3 this year, much to the delight of Sony console fans and to the dismay of Microsoft consoles fans. Ubisoft officially would not comment on a possible Xbox 360 version.
According to sources close to the company, however, there are potential plans for an Xbox 360 version at Assassins: Creed sometime in 2007. Additionally, Microsoft sources who asked not to be mentioned by name, claimed the demo, hidden behind closed doors at E3, was running on an Xbox 360 using a third-party USB PlayStation controller. The game system was hidden in a stand covered by a sheet. Again, Ubisoft officials would not comment.
