See your other thread.
A bigger scoop will not stop the engine going bang.
You would be better putting the money into a FMIC for prolonged high speed cruising but even then the first thing to do if charge temperatures are your concern is to know what your charge temperatures.
Your car must be in good order and particular attention to AFRs and the map at these speeds/conditions.
Short bursts to your top speed will not be an issue subject to the previous proviso. I have an STi 3 Wagon that gallops past an indicated 160+ still going but there are not a lot of opportunities to do that and certainly not to sustain that speed.
Cruising at a genuine 100mph will not be a problem for a Subaru TMIC in a car in good order but not too many people do that as they want to keep their licence.

Prolonged 140+ speeds will blow up most engines anyway. I would personally get a fmic if you are that worried about your engine going bang at stupid high speeds although personally i do not think imprezas are designed for high speed driving. My old v6 laguna used to purr along at 140 wheras my scooby is screaming.
