Ish, FYI the car ran a 9 second run last year on road fuel. The redline rumble was its first event this year, and basically a shakedown day.

may be because methanol is cheaper than race fuel and optimax and you get better performance with it

Once you look at the fuel consumption with methanol and the other requirements, such as fuel pumps, fuel regs that can deal with a dry fuel then it might not be cheaper than running racefuel..

Unless of course you spill power steering fluid in your tank

According to the GTR website the RC Developments Evo has run with methanol for the last 2 years.

Well done Andy, can't wait to see you wipe the smile off Norris's face!!!

Dont count your chickens, its not that easy in drag racing..

Its who crosses the line first, so if you break a driveshaft then you can loose the event in the final to a much slower car!

yeah hope andy can beat that green thing be a hell of an achievment if he can or even get close to it don't no prices but what makes andys cars even better is the fact that with in reason his cars a built on a reasonable budget i'm sure i read somewhere that norris evo was including labour was around 80grand u could spend a million quid and have the fastest car in the world but sure people repect a person for going out there and buiding it himself , not that i'm knocking norris his car is gorgeous just andy is going to have his work cut out if the rumours about how fast the evo are are true

The Norris car wont be at SSO will it?

I would say Andy's car has been done on a budget last year and this, its just the budget is far greater than the old Andy Forrest Budget.

Admittedly, i doubt its Norris budget level, but it will be a good few thousand!

Default norris's car

I think your being very optimistic that the evo 9 swb car will not produce the fiqures, it ran 9.72 on its first day out in october, with only 2.0 bar of boost, and on 19'' avon zzr tyres, not the 15'' drag radials it needs to get the better times, i am confident it can knock some time off yet, the main man though has to be keith cowies skyline, at 1000 bhp+ in a car that weighs a shade over 1000 kg, awesome, will be good to see it run for the first time at elvington on sunday, new 3 litre engine and better gearbox,

Depends what you call 'budget' ?

I just bought a new set of 7x15" wheels off ebay for £160/set delivered

My new radiator cost £45 from the same place.

New exhaust manifold is a chopped up GT spec manifold.

New exhaust system is a Lateral systems back box.

My 3x fuel pumps cost a total of £200

My mate welded up some new bits onto the intake manifold.

The engine is last years unit, unchanged.

Last years drag tyres.

Gearbox is over 2 years old now.

Same suspension has been on the car 3 years and it was S/H then !

Standalone dash unit was cheaper than a set of Defi's.

Spent a fortune on tarty pipes and fittings though

Andy, what do you think your car is actually capable of? Can it go much quicker than the awsome times you've already posted or have you reached it's limit (with a manual gearbox at least)?

I guess you must know how near to the 'perfect' launch / run you have come and also if the engine can be tweaked to give any further gains.

Really looking forward to seeing this beast in action on Sunday. Best of luck! The "tarty pipes and fittings" look awsome bytheway!

Thats shifting for sure.
Not sure how you would compare them but from my pod 1/8 mile slip, 0-120 =6.48 seconds

Cool

Car looks awesome Andy... but I reckon a de-tango should add a few more bhp and give you the edge...
