£2,000 Road Tax
#31
Somehow I don't see Mr Ming getting in a position to let that fellow do that.
It is certainly time that airlines had to pay tax on their fuel just like everyone else. The pollution caused by aircraft is truly enormous. And the CO2 is dumped in the worst possible place of course. 40 tons of fuel for a one way trip over the Atlantic is more than signifcant to my mind. Just think about all the aircraft flights in the world for a day!
I think Billy and his mates are too frightened of the big business tycoons to tax the fuel. Instead they are sanctioning rebuilding to increase the number of flights at the airports. The extra flights will about double the pollution we are getting now!
PSL, when it comes to links, you are the biggest "****" of the lot

Plenty on here waste £1,000's 'tinkering' with their cars - I don't.
Plenty CHOOSE to pay £2000 for Insurance - I pay £300.
Some spend £100's on CockLinks and Gauges - I don't!
If I CHOOSE to spend £2000 on Car Tax thats MY CHOICE!!
So shut it!

I am not about to pay £2000 to drive around in a car that the Modders/Chavs have ruined!!
If it means paying £2000 to get the chavs/modders out of Scoobies and into electric buggies then I'm up for paying!!!!

Hence the word edited. I wasn't happy with my choice of words, and couldn't be arsed to retype.

PS Is everyone aware that pollution is only caused when you drive a car, not when you buy it. Tax on fuel used is a far more sensible, easily collected, and fair method of reducing pollution than VED will ever be.

CO2 isn't a pollutant, it is food for plants and cars produce so little of it as to be insignificant on a global scale, just 5 companies in the UK produce as much CO2 in a year as ALL the cars on the road.
Red Ken claimed that the object of his congestion charge was to reduce pollution. It reduced private car traffic in some areas by 30% but the various air quality monitoring stations have recorded no improvement at all in the air quality. The reason for this, of course, goes back to the Saab advert and the fact that most of the air pollution in towns comes from buses the numbers of which have not reduced in central London.
What is amazing about all of this is that we have been so brainwashed that even us as motorists are given to believing some of this rubbish. There is no question that the government wants control over the motorist but the reason for this is to do with social engineering and politics rather than pollution and the environment.
