The fact my brother suffers from the condition means I have a pretty good understanding of the trauma that can be suffered by the individual and family members.
If you ever have a handicap child let me know and I will come round and have a good laugh at their expense.

When your brother is beaten up/asked to leave places/thrown off buses etc. The funny side does wear off.

People are having a laugh at it, but more importantly they're being made aware of it!

really? embarassed laughter maybe, i dont think many people regard it as "an amusing condition" unless you are the sort that thinks blind people walking into lamp posts is a giggle.

If it wasn't funny, chris moyles wouldn't have had a spoof interview with pete off BB this morning, and used soundbytes of R2D2 in his place

No-one I know is thinking "ahh he's raising awareness for tourettes" the genuine feeling from my cross section of colleagues and friends is that he is putting it on and that he either a) a w@nker or b) a funny guy.
I feel sorry for anyone who is beaten up or is innocently asked to leave places or thrown off buses and dont wish afflictions on anyone, but you and I know Big Brother is nothing more than a freak show. Recent documentaries have highlighted tourettes as a condition that to the narrow minded is funny and as such I think CH4 have fallen for this "character" and his so called "tourettes". He is acting.
PS - Anyone walking into a lamppost is funny

Some of the actions both physical and verbal are very close to those of my brother when he was in his 20's. I personally don't believe he is acting and he is a genuine sufferer. The thing to remember is that you are very aware of the physical and verbal ticks but you are unable to control them and Pete deals with them very well. You will find ticks will become far more prominent when he is under pressure so time will tell but during tasks I expect it to get worse. I still believe that CH4 only put him in the house for comical value as opposed to raising the nations awareness and as for Chris Moyles not much to say except he is a fat racist w@nker.

There is a link to one of her videos knocking about, not good, in fact not good at all.
If she was worried about causing her son embarassment on BB, just wait til his mates get hold of that.

He's there for what he can add to that no doubt.
However, I think it'll raise awareness all the same. I've overheard a numbner of conversations on the bus etc... along the lines of
"I had no idea that was a condition....I thought he was just being rude"
