Six months ago to this very day, I said goodye to my dearest and oldest friend, Harry. He was a Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross Labrador and had been with me since he was a little puppy, not much larger than the palm of my hand. He was 20 when he passed away peacefully in the family home. We had grown up together, and no matter what had happened, I could aways rely on his unconditional love and affection.
This is him a few years ago

To this day, sometimes I forget that he's gone and return home anticipating him bounding up to the door to greet me, tail wagging furiously eyes glowing with delight at my return....
Then I glance up into the kitchen and see a space where his bed used to be and my heart sinks.
I'm not ashamed to admit that just putting this post up has made me tearful
I miss you Harry. Everyday.
Paul.

We live near Faslane Navy Base. These nuclear subs have a lot to answer for
