Come out of Otley on the A660 and meet up with the A65 where it is a dual carriageway passing Burley-in-Wharfedale. Where it goes back to a single carriageway after the roundabout at the start of the "measured mile" into Ilkley there is a large lay-by on your right.

Wot he said ^^^

Cheers Dave.

Why don't we do BOTH days?
This would keep everyone happy and mean that no-one misses out.

There's nothing stopping Dave, Raf, James and whoever else from going on Monday, is there?

Certain folks are supplying the reason for this jaunt, ie cameras. Be it video or still, you, Mick and Dazza will be recording proceedings for posterity. If they can't all make the 2nd day then it will make the initial reason slightly redundant, but will still be a jolly fun blat If Dazza can't make it, bearing in mind Neeve being very pregnant indeed, then maybe he could lend us his video-cam and mount 'cos I'd love some of that split screen footage

You can borrow my stills camera, no problem. Video cam's got a nackered battery though. As for a camera mount, it's called gaffer tape!

East Ardsley side, yup.

Technically you could call it the Morley side, but then you could call it the Blackpool side.

On the East Ardsley side there is a small road just off the two lane entry to the roundabout. Alternatively, on the Wakey side there are lay-by's and bus stops on both sides and a gap to sneak through. Might be the safer option, apart from the lay-by's being right near the entrance to the eciloP motorway control centre

BTW, I'm not too bothered if Monday is now Sunday. Don't go having a 2nd run on Monday for my benefit, as I think I'd maybe rather replicate the run on the Summer Solstace run. Wednesday June 21st, longest day of the year where it will be light from before 4am to after 10pm. Here's hoping for good weather.

Raf, if you like we can do your headlights on Monday

I've done quite a few and not had one fail yet. Just gotta make sure you get a good reseal, which I do with lashings of silicone sealer.

Meet points

1 - Dave's workplace, Wakefield

Meet at 3:50am for departure at 4:00 on the nose

Head into t'dales, paying close attention to sheeps, wabbits and skwirrels.

Video and stills camera's armed and ready.

Route to be disclosed on the day, but the ideal would be to do buttertubs towards Hawes, Hawes to Ribblehead, then back the same way.

The intention is to get back to Wakefield and be tucking into a Redbeck Special by 10am, having got loads of nice car-to-car tracking shots, etc.

Did you help Steve when he did his Dave? Noticed a bit of condensation in the drivers one this morning. Would you just take it out and reseal? Two minute job? Its not bad but guess I shouldn't be lazy and should get it sorted. Just wondered what you thought.

Mine & Steve's were the first we did and we didn't use the silicone sealer. All the subsequent ones have been spot on, as have mine which were the 1st. Funny that Steve's new ones have fogged up too.

Ha ha............typical Steve.

Not to worry I'll take it out and slap some sealer on there. Probably the excessive rain and washing over the last week hasn't helped.

It will probably need opening up as it's surprising how much water can be in there. I thought mine had gone once, but upon investigation the access cap for the headlight bulb had fallen off and water which collects on top of the battery was falling straight in there. Give me a shout if you're unsure about it.

My pleasure mate

I don't really look at it as an handbreak more an additional stearing device

It was indeed a top morning out, Still find myself pmsl, when i think of Dazza's tuck and rolling down that cliff, or even Both dazza and Sticky coming with inches of walls and catle grid gates whilst hangiing out the side of the car taking pictures.

superb enthusiastic drive out and some super pictures to boot

Dazza Andy Allthough it has to be said they do look better on dazza's 8,foot plasma than they do in the gallery top work guys.

can't really add more other than a superb driving and picture day out with great company

Most of my hanging-out-the-window shots were blurred due to too slow a shutter speed, the one pic that I went with the intention of getting, however, turned out perfect.

This is one, no editing done yet. needs a crop and a few level adjustmnts before it gets printed out at 2'6" x 4' for the room wall.
