Hey there Reano old chap
I know I am supposing, but I doubt an honest retort from Jap will reveal all this took place below the speed limit

Well, 7 posts later and you are still replying to a thread with content that you a bored and sick with. Why not just ignore it, move along and contribute in something that doesn't bore you? It's a big enough forum and there's room for everybody

I've had the car 5 minutes and will be learning for a long time I'm sure.
I've never really had any knowledge of performance cars.
I did'nt think to look on the Ford pages for the Focus figures, **** I wish I had now.
Oh and I certainly could'nt impress you, After looking at some of your posts your never surprised or impressed with anything, unless of course you've done it.

Theres no fight, fight, fight going on here.
Today would've been a boring day in the office but NO.
What entertainment I've found throughout SNET.
My initial post was no boast, honest.
I have nothing to boast about, like I said I've had the car 5 minutes.
Reano, I've got an STi RA, I wont give the specs, I'll be accused of bragging!
I know theres better Scoobies out there, but I'm genuinely loving it.
Thanks for the fun day chaps, I think I'll leave work early today and race an Evo before rush hour.
God Bless you misty

If it was an ST it would have had two exhausts, one either side, and had an 'ST' badge on the back
If it was an RS it would have just had one single exhaust on the left hand side and had an 'RS' badge on the back
Either way, a standard ST is approx 222BHP, RS was approx 212BHP IIRC on those figures.
I don't think you'll get much more out of an ST as it only has an LPT so it wouldn't be able to supply the kind of boost needed for a big increase in BHP. It only boosts to about 0.7-0.8 bar max. No doubt more power could be seen with a change in turbo and the right mods.
RS responds very well to mods. My mate has one and has got the Bluefin chip and a full decat system. It is now pulling very hard indeed compared to a standard RS. How much BHP the stock turbo is good for on this car I do not know. I have seen some around the 350BHP mark with accompanying mods to support this level of tune.
Both a very fine handling cars indeed. The RS being the more hardcore version obviously. Another of my mates also a new ST and I can say it is a very well refined car indeed. The ride is very compliant and for me it is this that dominates the experience of the car rather than the drivetrain. Makes a nice noise when under hard acceleration. Very Quattro like.
Hope this answers your original question.

The only reason for your post was to make some infantile brag about beating another car

I'm a strange lad to say the least I hate following the same vehicle for a prolonged period of time, it just gets boring.
So I'm now bored with the site of this purple Ford, time to go past.
As I pulled out I could see the blue oval suck to the road (he booted it).
I hesitated and thought damn, I can pass this.
I got out by the side of him, changed gear (as I love my dump valve going off as I get by the side of em) and past I went.
When I got to the services, I saw the car parked up near mine.
Sat in my car this bird comes over and says I really upset her bloke by overtaking him, as he tried to keep me out there.
I just shrugged and said, lucky I got a scoob then, lol.
She was alright with it.
As I drove off I really wanted to acknowledge him but held back, would've seemed like P1$$ taking!
Anyways, so what power can be seen from one of these Fords?
(bearing in mind I'm not slating Fords, Since passing my test all I've ever owned was Fords, until 6 days ago) No going back now though.

Maybe that would be your clue as to whether it was a new ST or an RS. The RS being the MK1 Focus also had extended wheel arches to accomodate the wider track, so they would be instantly noticeable to any car enthusiast who has a keen eye.

I just found it unusual that you would've failed to notice the twin exhausts, assuming it was a new ST.
But then again I walked around my house the other day looking for the Sky remote that I was holding in my hand the whole time. Now that's

i think we should give jap a bit of a break,as he's said, he's only just bought the car( ra good choice)and he's just testing the waters to see where his car measures up against any other performance cars, seems to me that seeing as this is his first high performance car he's on a bit of buzz(DV) and when hes gone to over take the guy a bit of testosterone kicked in on both sides and he had the faster car,if thats a race then thats what it was, fact is nobody got hurt,it can take a long time to get to know your car if you drive it sensibly so every now and again you need to get to know it a bit better, how many of you can honestly say you havnt gained a good knowledge of your car by not giving yourself and the car a bit of a push when its safe to do so.we dont by these cars to drive them like miss daisy all the time, and track days arn't everyones cup of tea.dont get me wrong i dont agree with street racing or any form of dangerous driving but sometimes you get the odd d1ck who will try to make a race out of anything,at that point you have to decide do i,or dont i

Jap after a while you can ignore. Best tactic is just to completely ignore and continue talking about what you started the thread with.
Anyway whats the next car you gonna race ?
