Mtyh Of Exploding P1's

I have to agree the P1 is one of the best. But I wouldn't say its better than a Type-R. I like the fact that mine has Climate control, DCCD, etc and all the STi extras unlike the P1. ALthough the P1 is meant to be better suited to UK roads. To be fair I never really use the DCCD, unless its raining.
To be honest they are probably both equally the best Scoobys made. Although I think the 22B looks better, its not as good to drive or as fast.

I have had a P1 now 3 years and yes the engine is prone to problems as with any Scooby, and there is only one reason for that and that is the fueling....most people have de-catted and have not had a re-map.....this can cause problems as the engine can run lean.....
If u change the fuel pump and re-map the car it is as realiable as any Scoob...
If u leave it standard and don't hammer it at the top end it is as reliable as any Scoob....
The only problem owning a P1 is what do u get next!?

At the end of the day I wouldn't buy either - hence I bought a newage.

Well Im afraid this debate will go on and on till the end of time, all I can say is I owned a p1 for almost 3 years and never had a problem with it.
I have nothing against Type R's or the 22b infact I luv'em but lets be honest the p1 is the better all round performance ROAD car - IMO anyway
So you monkies - for me the p1 is the Ultimate ROAD GOING Impreza. OK, OK maybe its the Type 25 but its got 4 doors
