My step daughter is gay, lives with her partner and their daughter, (my gorgeous little step grand daughter). And its none of your biz how that came about. Yes they have stayed here and shared a bed under our roof. My step son is also gay and in a steady relationship.
They are both very happy with their lives and very comfortable with their choice of path in this life. My husband 's attitude is, if they are happy and not causing harm or upset to anyone, then let them get on with it. They are still his kids, he still loves them.
Quite honestly, they seem a whole lot happier than a lot of hetro people of their ages.

The difference is, I'm making a joke, and you're being an uptight bell-end. As usual.

Unclebuck you ask : ......Will she be gay also?

No more likely than her parents were going to be hetro because their parents were.~ I'll wait now, until you catch up.

Thanks, hectic. It may come as a bit of a shock to begin with but at the end of the day, being gay is no crime. On the other hand,if my child becomes a criminal,my reaction will be quite hardcore

External factors may affect an individual in becoming bi-sexual or gay e.g. the wave of gaymanship vogue, experiment with same sex, personality, chain rejections from heterosexual relationship etc. may result into one's growing up child deciding into becoming gay.

If either of my boys told me they were gay they would have my 100% blessing and the same from my wife.
I would advice them to talk to someone with a little more experience of gay life. My brother-in-law is gay as is one of by oldest friends.
I wouldn't ask my friends to try to talk them out of any life choices but to inform them of the difficulties they will encounter throughout their lives.

The only thing I would insist on is they get out of ANY relationship if they are not happy and look for happiness elsewhere as it is waiting for them to find it.

The most important thing to any normal, decent, loving parent is the happiness of their children. I have friends and relatives who are openly homosexual. One of my friends did get a tough time (relatively briefly) from his religious parents but ultimately his happiness was the most important thing. He had been trying to live a straight life up until he was twenty three, having known from his early teens that he was gay, which must have been an absolute nightmare (he's a good looking guy and had lots of girlfriends which must have been very tough!!)

Everyone I know who is openly gay has pretty much known since early teens that they were so, the same time that a heterosexual person would start to become interested in the opposite sex (puberty???). It's just a case of when it is addressed. Therefore up-bringing, parenting, the mother watching Sex and The City whilst pregnant , has nothing to do with it, it's a pre-programmed genetic code that "comes out" at some point, the only choice is if you decide to be open about it. I doubt greatly that a pubescent child is aware of the fashionable side of being gay, or the benefits that being gay can bring if you are in media, or any creative / entertainment industry!

It's a sad reflection on society that some people still feel the need to hide their true selves, especially as we "pride" ourselves on "freeing" people from regimes where free expression is not allowed. Plus the fact that people have openly had same sex relationships since the beginning of man, some people still have issues with what two adults may enjoy in private......

Apparition,

Does you husband never question why both of his kids turned out to be gay?

Personally if my kids turned out to be Gay I'd be pretty pissed off, and think I'd raised them wrong. I'd be double pissed if I had a boy and he was gay, I would really question my parenting skills then.

Kids brought up in a homosexual household will have a far higher chance of becoming gay themselves.

Indicating to me its more of a lifestyle thing sometimes.

Parenting has nothing to do with whether or not a child is gay or not. They don't 'turn' gay, they just are. However, parenting will affect whether or not the child is comfortable enough to come out. Good parenting means that they come out and are happy. Bad parenting leads to them hiding it, denying it and ending up unhappy people.

By that definition, being straight is a lifestyle thing as well as most people are brought up in a straight environment.

Anyway, how many gay homosexual households do you think there are? Hardly any.

I don't think I'd be happy about it, but I'd probably accept it. I do however believe that being gay is a choice and not just 'what you are'. I'm not homophobic, I have 2 friends who are gay, and they're the same as my other friends, but I personally would want my children to be gay...just my opinion.
