How did Miss Kinky know it was yours I wonder, maybe I missed something in the ad.
I often think about the 1963 Lotus Cortina Mk 1 that I used to own, now that was a real car, outstanding performance and roadholding when I had sorted the rear axle problem.
For your interest Rannoch, I used Duckhams 20-50, the green stuff in my racers and that engine was producing 185 BHP at 11500 rpm as a 1300 cc. Never ever had a failure due to the oil!

Miss Kinky picked up on a numberplate thread a few weeks ago where someone wanted a value for a numberplate.
I answered saying that my current PETE numberplate cost very little - but, I owned a Cortina GT once with the numberplate MRX 1L
The Cortina bit interested her more than the numberplate and then the ad appeared on e-bay ............................
It is quite an amazing sequence of events - well, I think so anyway!

Thanks Miss Kinky, the reg was 1955 DG. It was an outstanding car-I did quite a bit of tweaking on it too, gas flowedf the head and fitted Cosworth cams and Weber 45 dcoe's as well as sorting the suspension.

You knew you had a clean engine when you poured it in and it stayed green on the dipstick (where dirty engines would turn it brown pretty quick).
