Another STI Tunning Thread - Who are the tuners

We did a dyno day @ Janspeed in Salisbury, on a FREEZING day in March (and I mean freezing). Other STI's on the day were getting good power 360-380bhp, and standard cars with no mods were bang on their power too, so it was a good comparison. On PS's rollers on a warm day when mapped I got 385.
There was also an 02 WRX @ the Janspeed day and it ran around 356bhp, and again this was a PS mapped car, and attained the same power at PS when mapped.
So as I was saying I can't fault Rich's mapping. He has done an excellent job on my car, its nice to drive, I regularly get 300-330 miles to a tank when cruising around (I do 1-2k miles a month), and its a hoot when you boot it , plus it has been very reliable over the 3 yrs I had it. I'm done now with engine mods, as I need to use it as a daily driver.

I don't doubt the power figure but the torque figure still seems higher than what it should be.
Some friends of mine had there cars rr'd at Janspeed and the results were "interesting" to say the least.

Thats an intresting point..as all of the tuners that i have called have said it will.... even for the 333 package they change the pump..
maybe it helps...but not essential..?

It won't give you more power, it's more of a safety net against failure. I have one, and would recommend one 'just in case' but at that sort of power level, if it really needed changing then the WR1 would have one. After all, they come with a warrenty so it's in the manufacturers interest not to have them all blow up.

WR1s had the 255 installed already so will be fine.
Get some det cans and find out for yourself.

I don't believe for a second that subaru fitted a pump that is so close to the limits, and so much lower rated than the std pump on the classic that a decat alone will push it over the top.
If the WR1 comes with an uprated pump then I was wrong in that regard.

Sam,
if it helps, then this is the cost of work on my WRX wagon fro similar output that you're looking for.
The costs will be IRO the same for the STi apart for the intercooler, injectors & turbo. The TGV delete route is open to debate.
Starting model was a WRX Wagon with PPP. I kept the Prodrive rear box.
Sti intercooler £250
STi PPP fuel pump Ebay £65
3 port solenoid new £65
STi Prodrive sports cat Ebay £275
VF35 Ebay £300. I then ported this.
Std headers & up-pipe £45. I ported these.
Snorkelectomy. Cost nothing.
STi Gp N air filter £45. STi Racing.
Spec C inlet manifold with pink injectors £260. I removed TGV dividers & ported TB & inlet.
Starting with a std STi, not doing the TGV removal anddoing your own porting then parts costs are £700. Mapping would be on top.
Paul @ Zen did the mapping on mine and produced 280bhp @ wheels (Delta dash road dyno) with 1.5 bar tapering to 1.3 bar.
I've Pmd you as well.

It cost me £2k including a few things they needed to fix. If your car is perfect it'll cost you approx £1,800.
Just like to say the service and professionalism was excellent there.
They are certainly not the cheapest but they do a fantastic job.
I'm now very please with the car!

AfterBurner Performance Pack £499inc VAT and Delivery
Cool...
I was just browsing Scoobyworlds site, who are offering free delivery on all items...
They do a Afterburner Performacne Pack which contains the following:
The above is for £500 inc VAT, which i think is a good price...
The above fitting costs are near £200 inc VAT
Walbro Fuel Pump £80 in VAT
Then all is left is is MAP, at near £550ish...
So i guess the question is...just how good is the Aferburner Performance pack?

Emisions confusion -
Okay...so i know little more of how this works...The exchaust is made up of the following parts:
CAT Downpipe, a 2nd CAT Pipe, Center Section and a Backbox.
Can someone please clarify:
Route 1 - TSL Thundercat Sports CAT downpipe, Centrr Seciton & Back Box
This setup will pass the MOT without any isses.
Route 2 - Decat 2nd CAT pipe, Centre Section, and Back box.
Will this pass the MOT as it will still have the first original CAT in place? will the performance still be there with the original CAT? will it improve more if i were to replace this with a Prodrive Sports cat?

As above
But with #3, didn't notice any performance gains, but gained induction noise from the filter and the noise from the backbox will make you believe you're going faster
