This setup will pass the MOT without any isses.
Route 2 - Decat 2nd CAT pipe, Centre Section, and Back box.
Will this pass the MOT as it will still have the first original CAT in place? will the performance still be there with the original CAT? will it improve more if i were to replace this with a Prodrive Sports cat?

My MY03 WRX has a decat uppipe, Thundercat downpipe, decat centre, and Ninja backbox. I took it via TSL for its MOT in May, and it passed with flying colours. Now the only annoyance for me, was not getting any paperwork actually showing the emissions. But as it passed, i aint looking for any! LOL.
But as mentioned above, the Thundercat is bloody expensive. £500 when i had it, or more i think. But i wanted road legal so there you have it.
You may want to think about one of the very good centre cat pipes that are knocking around now?

Noise has never made me feel the car is going fast...i learnt that the last time i have the NurSpec R without a bung on the car...
On a serious note...i am looking to keep the noise down to near enough standard...hence i thought the PP back box may be the way to go? No?

when you can buy a complete newly built 6 litre chevy and shipping - with more power - for the same money -- ok - so it wouldnt fit - but you get my point - Scooby tuning is far too expensive for what you get
what happened to the Scooby Magazine project WRX - that was looking like same power for far less - based on a WRX!

TSL ThunderCat Downpipe needs Classic Centre Pipe
I was about to buy a Centre Section for the new age today, but luckely i had a chat with TSL first..
After a long think i have decided on the ThunderCAT Sports downpipe which TSL are now selling for £395 inc VAT (a groupby price is avaliable, so will lookinto this also)
Now they have advised that for this downpipe for the newage Scooby you will need a Classic centre Section...This i wish i had known sooner as i sold my TSL from my Classic for £50 a month back!
So on the search for a Classic Centre section...

Sam,
What about 'ancillary' items - like a KL, or boost gauge - or are these already fitted. Also, if you swapped the pump, would you not want to fit an uprated (sx?) regulator ?
There's an extra 250 quid (minimum!) straight off.....
I've already replaced the BB, centre silencer and cat centre on my 02 STIUK. I've also fitted a K+N panel and started to set about some cold air mods (sti8 scoop/splitter, insulated air-intake, i/c fan, t/b coolant bypass, header spacers). Next jobs are the gauges, then the expensive stuff, - pump/reg, sportscat and map (!)
Be interested in how you go on.....

mark how important are the "ancillaries" as when i have sought advice these items havent been mentioned.
i am following this thread with interest also as i am in the market for similar upgrades. i have a full vortex system inc decat centre and a/market panel filter already fitted. i have got my mits on a ppp sports cat d/pipe and looking for a cheap uprated pump. just the simple process of a remap at 650.00 at prosport then im sorted.(i think)

I mention it for that reason really.....
I guess a boost gauge isn't important, as long as you don't need to diagnose any issues (or use it to drive with), as the mapper won't be using it.
The KL 'shouldn't' be necessary, but then again the car will be mapped to a lesser safety margin than originally, so it might be a good idea. I admit that these things are not mentioned by tuners (not by all anyway) and they're certainly missing from any 'packages'. I think that the jury is out wrt the regulator - seems that this isn't included in the packages either.
Maybe its worth canvassing some opinions from the various reputable tuners and putting the results on here ?
In my old classic I had KL, AFR, boost plus AVC-R display and Hand-Held Commander on the PFC - perhaps it comes down to whether you'll get it mapped and then just drive it or whether you'll continue to 'play' ....
While on the subject of ppp d/ps, are all newage ones the same ? i.e. all mys (01-05) interchangeable, or is there an STI and WRX one, or differencing between the years and models ?
