Situation:

During the installation of pcAnywhere, you see the error message "Error 1722: There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."

Solution:
Symantec is investigating this problem to determine a resolution. This document will be updated when new information or a solution is available.

As a possible workaround, do the following:

1. Using the Add/Remove Programs control panel, uninstall the following:
* Symantec pcAnywhere
* LiveReg (Symantec Corporation). LiveReg will be restored when pcAnywhere is reinstalled.
2. Reinstall pcAnywhere 11.0/11.5 using the following command line:

msiexec /i "[Path to pcAnywhere .MSI file]\Symantec pcAnywhere.msi" IRAABOUT=1
