Interest rates/Mortgage rates = same thing.

Are you claiming credit to the Labour Party for interest rates being low (despite Gordon B giving resposibility for interest rates to the Bank of England back in 1997?). Or are you saying that high interest rates are a good thing (therefore the current interest rates which you claim as a Labour success are not a good thing)?

Anyway, this whole thread has gone rather off topic. The original question wasn't about Gordon Brown's competence as Chancellor. It was more about the West Lothian Question.

I am saying that lots of voters want low Mortagae rates ...... I, on the other hand, don't give a flying fig ...... I would LIKE HIGH Interest rates from a selfish point of view.

But, and this is where I differ, I will make the most of whatever the world throws at me - and do it well ................ not for me the moaning and whining and griping that some (Like Leslie) engages in.

I get up, dust myself down and crack on ........... losers waste their time crying and blubbing that it's not fair and the Government should wipe their ***** for them!!

PSL,

Show me where I have moaned, whined and griped.

I say the facts as I see them and where your hero and his rather queer cronies are concerned, there is nothing good to say!

Talking

Jeez - I can't remember a time when Lewis's dementia was quite so bad.

Brown's got short arms and a deep sporran and shouldn't be running the economy.

Cheers

I thought it was interesting to read some of his comments when he was interviewed by Paxman, he hints that things wont stay so rosy forever.

You can read the interview here

Erm... you do realise that the BoE has been independent of the Government since 1997, don't you? .

Quite a poor spoof of the BBC news site you posted there.

That's why I can't understand why Gordon Brown is always trying to take all the credit for the economy given that he has played no part in controlling it.

Will he take the credit when it all blows up in his face when the IMF stops supporting his borrowing habit?
