Anyone that uses their religion as a primary categorisation for themselves are dodgy.

I'm a white, English male. I am not religious, however if I was I wouldn't then simply be a "Christian" or "protestant". I would till remain a white, English male.

People that ctaegorise themselves primarily by their religion are already certified, and should all be treated with bloody care!!

The main concern that I have is that Muslims are exponentially linked to acts of terror and violence more than any other group on the planet (religious or otherwise). So forgive me for not being keen on the Muslim community generically.

Duck Pond made a sensible point about the Iraq troubles. They did not actually need a democracy as such, they are used to being ruled by a dictatorship, probably the only way to control such a diverse community anyway. Too many people seeking overall power from the different tribes to settle down in the foreseeable future.

Its a shame that the unholy pair could not see the present murderous actions coming when they decided to attack the country in an effort to gain favoured access to the enormous oil reserves. An illegal act carried out with no organised thoughts to the future. Mind you, an average of 50-60 Iraqis being killed every day is probably of no concern to them.

What Iraq needs is a benevolent dictator who will govern the country for the people.

As far as i'm concerned eveyone is entitled to believe what they want and live their life as they want, as long as they dont force this on anyone there isnt a problem.

The more extreme side of things with women not being able to show any skin etc... has always made me a little uncomftable though i must say.

Thanks for the encouraging responses from all you guys I will feeling pretty low after reading the thread last night...however I totally understand the feelings of people. It just gives me the feeling that leaving the UK will be a consideration in the future if things get worse (more acts from these sicko extremists)...to me that would be sad because living here is all I know but that is just the way things are. As Muslims we are not even allowed to destroy fruit bearing trees, animals let alone children, women and men (Muslim or non Muslim)...these people are devils and are to be exterminated...I did a prayer of gratitude to the news that the dog Zarkawi was killed it was a shame that the women were killed as women are not normally involved in this kind of stuff just casualities of war.

Sad comments as more enlightened people will react by going elsewhere(if they are able), leaving the troublemakers from all camps behind. Where I live there are very few incidents/issues probably due to the population not being so diverse. Therefore most of my information comes from the media. This is a frightening thought when you see some of the intellectually challenged with their redtop tabloid.

I have put in an awful lot of effort, made very considered posts, and tried very hard to make people realise that not all Muslims are terrorists, however I feel I am banging my head against a brick wall. SN Readers dont want to hear that. They want me to condemn everybody to death or eternal hellfire or something.

These days I get more pleasure and result from the type of response I am about to post to UB...

I'd just like to add that all these stories we've been hearing over the last couple of years or so;
1)where councils banned pigs pics, toys from all offices in a particular are because it MAY offend us muslims,
2)Several areas banning christmas lights/celebrations,
3)banning of england flags being on display etc.

It always seems to be non asians/muslims assuming that we may find these things offensive and being vocal about it. But I personally haven't heard any muslims moaning about any of the above or asking for any of it to be banned.

Here's another take on the above maybe a bit paranoid but stay with me. If some one high up in authority or a position of power is a BNP supporter or has racist feelings- then what better way to stir up trouble against muslims than to say to his employees that your not flying any england flags cos you may offend some of your co-workers (ahem mentioning no names 'wink' muslims). A bit far fetched but very possible and from the look of things it seems to hit the nail on the head every time.

I dont have any probs with people supporting england, I for one am one of those and so are lots of people I know of all colours and beliefs.


We celebrate eid and I hope don't offend anyone in doing so as it is one of our days of celebration. Similarly Hindus/sikhs celebrate diwali and christians and lots of other people celebrate christmas. I enjoy celebrating eid as I'm sure the rest of you enjoy your special occasions what ever they maybe, I don't see why any of it should offend anybody else. So what if I dont celebrate christmas, does that mean that I don't integrate with british people (although I am born and raised in England).

I go to work, have a good laugh and exchange jokes with people be they brown, black, white or green; discuss the news, politics and everything else that goes on at any other work place. End of the day I choose to go home and not a pub as I choose not to drink alcohol, does that make me a loner who finds it difficult to integrate. Should I/we have to do things against our wishes just to prove to people we are integrating. My lifestyle doesn't to my knowledge affect anyone elses lifestyle in a negative way so why should that be a problem for some people.

While I'm ranting I'll just add the fact (for the benefit of a few deluded people) that my parents were immigrants but both have been working since they arrived, yes they get tax credits and what ever else they are entitled to now my mum has stopped working but that doesn't make them scroungers. I work full time and pay approx £150 a week in national insurance and tax as i'm sure lots of you guys do and some pay even more. So please don't tar everyone with the same brush. Not all illegal/legal immigrants are muslims as some of you seem to believe, many come from eastern europe who are non-muslims but dont seem to be noticed as much because they have white skin, its only if you speak to them and find they struggle to communicate in english that you discover they are foriegners which I have the oppurtunity to do in my job.

I don't mean to lecture any of the above to most of the scooby netters who seem to have a level head, its just for the few who dream up nothing but bullsh*t and then post it without thinking about it.

Sorry mate - but when I see for myself thousands of muslim brothers dressed up as terrorists and demanding the lives of cartoonists I'm gonna form my own opinion on who they would rather support - The British public or their Muslim brother terrorist scum.

Its just exactly what you expect from them really. Just imagine if a load of white people went and demonstrated with placards saying stuff like "kill all muslims" and cartoons of mohammed The police would come down on them like a tonne of bricks - they'd probably all get prison sentances, and there'd probably be a frenzy of suicide bombings across the UK as members of the "religion of peace" let their feeling be known.

Immigrants simply must adopt British values if they want to live here. We hav been too tolerant, and allowed intolerant cultures to flushish here.

I have to agree with comments made by bugatti regarding so called Muslims being offended by this that and the other. I have never heard or yet to hear myself a Muslim that has complained about too many England flags and christmas lights etc etc etc. It it those politically correct White middle class ***** that stir things up and create the mess we are in.

I think you will also find that 99% of the scum that are classed as Muslims are law abiding citizens that are no different to any of us, in fact they tend to be more hard working than the chav scum that litter this country.
