I think the fact that any thread that mentions muslims ends up with this discussion, shows the level of hatred for them. It may not be PC to say so, but these idiots are ******* up the world for the rest of us. Unfortunately innocent muslims get tarred with the same brush, but that's not my fault, I'm suspicious of any muslim I see, maybe that's wrong but if you go about blowing up trains and flying planes into skyscrapers, you're gonna give your religion a bit of a reputation.

It might help if this 99.9999% of good muslims condemned this behaviour, but alot of them don't.

I think they are just stuck in the past. I was listening to the news last night and apparently a tennis coach and 2 of his players were recently gunned down in Iraq, the reason, because the wear shorts!!

I mean WTF is that about!

Going round killing people because of their religion, they are obviously nut jobs.

I know people were killed in their thousands for not being Catholic etc.. but that was 2 thousand years ago! you'd of thought these people would of moved on a bit!

But where are these innocent muslims?.... when theres been an islamic terror attack like the London bombings or 9/11, muslims being interviewed are always quick to justify the "actions of their fellow muslims" saying they were forced to take those actions by the US etc, but you wont see many, if any ready to condem the terrorist actions.

Islamic and Western values are incompatible, end of.

The USA's foreign Policy is incompatible with 99.9999999999999999999% of anyone not american.

The other 0.000000000000000001% is Tony Blair

However - If the "dissaffected muslims" want to bomb us for having tony Blair as our "Leader" - I say death to the "dissaffected muslims" - if it's them or us Id rather we survived !

I think Bush and Blair have probably done a better job of unsettling world peace with their stupid gung-ho foreign policies - I'm sure if you did a comparison body-count there'd be no surprises as to who has the biggest tally.

The same can be said for illegally invading countries on a slim premise to orchestrate a regime change, but does that make all Western people bad ?

I'm not defending terrorism, far from it, but it annoys me when people blame all the world's ills on a small minority of extremists when in fact the vast majority of the problems are created by the people we voted into power. (or not in the case of George Bush of course !)

What i dont understand is how they can hold the general public accountable for the actions of their leader??? The same as we're not holding the entire Iraqi population to account for Suddams actions??

We may of voted him (Blair) in (i didn't) but we dont really have a say on who we go to war with, that much was proved!

And these Muslims who grow up in our country then decide that blowing up 50 inoccent people is fair punishment are surely as guilty as we are for being an evil 'westener' ???

Today's terrorist / freedom fighter is tomorrows leader.

Of course we're not, that's why there's yet another thread about how all muslims round the world are suicide bombers

The answer is in your question Peter.

"The Muslims being interviewed".

Please tell me what percentage of a defined group of people, acting in the same way, does it take for you to feel justified in saying "They're all like that"?

I'm sure we can draw some interesting comparisons after that, dont you?

Asif

Are we to take this post as a Global Litmus Test about Islam vs The West then?

I actually dont like to post on these threads anymore, because I repeat myself until I'm blue in the face.

People are not interested in a reasonable point of view, gets in the way of their determination to vent their spleens and spout off whatever is on their minds.

Shame really.

I have to agree with the viewpoint that there seems to be a silent majority amongst the muslims.
Perhaps the media is simply sheltering us from this silent majority and in mosques around the country those who are inciting hatred and violence to the west are being shouted down and osctrcised by those who don't agree with this.
Funny that I don't recall seeing anything about that though.

If you don't like us, for whatever reason, then tell you what, leave our country, regardless of wether you're a citizen or not, and go to another country where the majority of it's populace actually agree with your views.

Being a muslim albeit not a very strict one I find the all encompassing vitriol deeply disturbing. I don't and never have condoned the actions of the few disturbed individuals who in the name of religion have perpetrated heinous crimes against humanity. They do not represent my view or indeed the view of Islam or indeed the view of any religion. It is mankind's foible that he can misconstrue and twist material to suit his own agenda. Maybe we need more muslims to come out and condemn those who seek to besmirch us in the name of our religion. Yes condemn those who are responsible for causing anarchy and chaos, but please spare a thought for those caught up in this whirlwind and feeling damned from all sides.

why dont the muslims come out and stand up to the terrorists? is it because they are scared of reprisals from these people!
i,m sure if the terrorists were condemned, in public, by prominent muslim leaders the whole of the muslim world wouldnt get such a bad press.

Who exactly do muslims like? They don't like Jews (Israel), the don't like Hindus (India/Paksistan), they don't like the West in general(USA/Europe/Aussies), they don't even like each other, hence the Sunnis and Shirs fighting in Iraq. Oh, they don't like the Kurds either.

Am I being simplistic, or is Islam the common denominator in all these conflicts?
I think the general anti islam sentiment that pervades christian countries in europe has succeeded in tuning you to this view. I'm jewish but I have no negativity toward islam itself.

Muslims dont play anything but they often are the victims, you don't really hear much about them (Yes media again). Unclebuck has obviously got 'issues'.

Zarqawi being dead wont have much influence to our troops on the ground im afraid.Zarqawi was attempting to take more of a back seat recently (Notice the lack of beheadings),wether it was because hes a foreigner or for some other reason nobodys quite sure. But while you,ve got the likes of Al Sadr still kicking about things can only get worse.Zarqawi was a very personal thing for America, but fair play to them, they got their man

Here is the report (for my fellow scots here) Coatbridge Courier reports.....

"Aff his heid militant leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi has been pure melted by the way, Iraqi Leader Aff Nouri Maliki has announced.

"We have totally sorted oot this Muppet Zarqawi," Mr Maliki told all his muckers outside an offy in Baghdad.

Zarqawi was considered the Leader Aff of the Sunni Young Team in Iraq, blamed for chibbing loads of punters and ******* his train fare. The US said he was killed in an air strike on his council flat "approximately 800km (hunners of miles) south of Bargeddie" no far from the Baghdad Blue Lagoon chippy.

The head of US-led forces in Iraq, General Malky Boy Campbell, said the strike took place at 1815 (1415 GMT) on Wednesday while most of us were still sleeping aff the Bucky Bender from the night before.
"Iraqi polis were roon their pronto," he said, but when they got there it was too late as some bugger had already nicked the stereo and the plasma telly.

General Malky Boy said Zarqawi's body was identified through some old chib marks that he picked up when the Govan boys gave him a doin’ last month.

When asked if they had used a lot of bombs on the hoose General Malky Boy said “Heavy sprinkles man, heavy sprinkles,”

I'm just in awe of the American military machine, the famous cross hair camera shot of the target detailing the accuracy and precision of the weapons used…..as it destroyed several blocks of the neighbourhood.....
