Starnge thing to say IMHO mate, as I go on the Lancer forum from time to time and can't believe what a bunch of tossers most of them come across as.

At least this board seems to have a better ratio of decent people to *****.

Me brother went for a test drive in one, when he owned his Focus RS. He said he felt the RS was actually quicker than the ST....more torque in an urgency, than the ST's gradual speed. Plus the RS looks SO much meaner!

I can't believe some of the replies to this thread... the guy's only pointing out the fact that he beat some **** in an ST who obviously thought his car was super-quick!
Do none of you people get a bit of a buzz when things like this happen and then want to share the experience?

******* hell people lighten up!!!

a) I never said my car was standard and I wasn't getting into the whole, standard for standard/horses for courses.
b) I do have graphics and so what? I like my car to be different to others and the graphics are a ONE OFF. Yes, I personally think the shopping list additions are a bit ott but wouldn't dare to slag (get it?? ) them off .
c) You dare to call me a **** behind the safety of your PC? another Mike Tyson Typer I fear.

Jamin - please don't begin to comment or there will be some jamin of my very own

All I am saying is the buzz when seeing off "supposedly" quick cars is one of the reasons i've fallen back in love with my car.
Anybody who denies it is a liar and should hand back the keys to the dealership alongside the ones who never go above 3k....

Oh and craig, comparing my car to yours may not be a comparison but then again comparing me to you wouldn't be a comparison really would it? so like I say.......horses for courses and all that jazz...

Can I ask the SN moderators one thing?
Why are there so many Subaru haters on a Subaru website?
I mean if you have the car and don't like it sell it......
You look at any other forum and they actualy, dare I say it, Like their cars!!
Now thats crazy talk!!

I remember a few weeks ago I took a wrx 2.5 out from robert bowetts subaru they was doing a good deal so wanted to see what the new scooby was like.

And way came off the motorway and down towards the White-Rose shopping centre and a ST focus came up behind us, he must have geared down and tried to over take so the lad taking us on the test drive said to give it some....I needed no egging on and went for it, to cut a long story short I toasted him down the long straights and both round abouts by the second round about he was no where in sight. I also know what the focus is like cos I took one of them out the week before.. Also took Vectra VXR and Zafira VXR out. I Stuck with my current Vectra c 2.2 Sri navi until I can sell this and convince my other half that a subaru is not as bad as she thinks.

You're god damn right...... more often than not, I choose you I have *do's* with by the way the driver looks, or the way they are driving at that time, other times its based on what the car is.

You can't help it, even if the other car is slower than yours, and when you do show them up you feel that the world is a better place because of it, not just because you have proved your car is quicker than theirs, but you have basically given them a big 4-wheel bird !!!

Its the same when you blow off a 'cap just resting on top head' chav in his Saxo, only for him to nearly hit oncoming traffic further down the road just to get past you, you still feel a bit annoyed that he got past, even though he risked death to do it !!!!

“Yesterday was sitting at the lights when this chaved up Subaru came up beside, what a bell end the guy looked. Anyway, he is blipping the throttle desperate to prove how tiny his **** is. I just picked the car up on Monday so was limited to 3000rpm as still running in. Anyway he charges past with my mate and me pissing ourselves, I think I actually saw a couple of people on the pavement pointing an laughing, im sure one mouthed ‘what a ****’

Oh the shame of being overtaken how will I ever sleep at night.!!”

Thanks...

Now the people who think we're talking about street racing/giving subaru's a bad name/what if you had kids in the car will probably pipe up as always!
Oh and the ones that say the police are moitoring sites like these etc etc

I'm not saying race in built up areas or past schools, i'm not even saying racing on the streets is ok, i'm just saying enjoy the car within reason....

Plus burning brand new shiney M3's, Carrera 4's and the above is hilarious.....

Oh dear....the ford boys got a bit touchy did they?

Got to be honest I dont race anyone on the roads because, it involves driving too danegrously to win. Sure I enjoy driving my STI but I enjoy the balance of the car and heel & Toeing correctly. Nobody can drive the car to its limits on the road without involving dangerous driving. The car is simply to accomplished. Racing somebody off the line is fun I'm sure but I value my license too much to really give it some beans upto a 130mph or whatever. At the end of the day blowing someone away is fun up until the day you get blown away yourself by just about any motorbike on the roads or an even faster car than yours. Why not take the car to a track day and really learn how to drive properly and explore the real limits of what your car can do. I would also point out that you wll probably find how limited your car really is. Tracks are really harsh on brakes and tyres.

Why would I want to spank my car on a track?
like you say replacing tyres and breaks at then end of it?
I do drift days etc to learn the cars limits on grip etc but I have no intention of going on the track with it......well maybe one day but not on it's limits.
I'm not even saying I know the in's and outs of my car!!
True bikes do pass me after 2nd but they're bikes so thats obvious.......and big bhp skylines etc do leave me and I don't b1tch about it.....

I just posted saying ford focus st?
2.5 turbo?
waste of money IMHO.....

If the focus is a waste of money, what does that make the more expensive WRX?

I think you'll find that you haven't made a valuable contribution on this thread, maybe others?
Infact just jumping on the bandwagon doesn't justify much does it?

I own a subaru, I had a pair of ****'s in a bright orange focus st that obviously thought they could have a pop at a wrx and they came unstuck.

The difference is they lost out and are probably nun-too happy about it.
When I loose to faster cars I just appreciate what they've done and makes me want to move a step closer to the 2.5 conversion.

Moral of the story? there is always someone else out there faster....luckly it was me on this istance

Like m3's, evo's, and the like?

LOL - must admit you've got a point here. I went past a porsche turbo and a DB9 the other day (both were trying). It's always nice to out perform a brand new supercar in a 10 year old datsun The Aston Driver even stopped and gave us a waive at the next roundabout

To all the haters, so what if Tripple OG smoked an ST and doesn't like them - far too many keyboard warriors on here

Do you know the same thing happened to me the other day, there I was minding my own business and some noddy came up behind my M3 CS is a Impreza, broad day light but had both his headlights and FOG LIGHTS on??? right up my ar$e. Well after 10 secs I though well what the hell, sport button on and lets go. After a couple of minutes I couldn't see him at all thought he must have turned off, came upto some temp traffic lights and stopped then next news same bloke comes hairing round the last corner right up my *** again.
So what do I think, my cars faster than all Subaru's, I'm a better driver than anybody.
I "followed" a E60 M5 on to the motorway with my old Evo FQ340 some time back, and yes I kept up with him but does that make my car better than his, I know which one I would have.
I have chased bikes with the Evo and the M3 and kept up and overtook some in the IOM and there not the small bikes.

Oh and my dad is MIKE TYSON

Come on guys

Its threads like this that makes scoobynet so great.

Where else can you find someone bragging about spanking a DB9 in their pikey machine.

Ok Corsa net you got me there.

I always thought a keyboard warrior was someone that says things like "shut up or else" or "please don't begin to comment or there will be some jamin of my very own" over the internet, not someone who merely voices their opinion on a subject...
