We have some mates whos with 2 girls and there grandad thinks its funny to teach them to use a few of the worst words and no it doesnt sound funny when a 3 year old calls you a c*nt they have tryed and tryed to get them to stop.

Some words are more offensive than others. I love the $hit word and use it quite a bit
The other stronger words, very rarely, except in extreme rage, and never infront of my kids

I swear only when Im faced with retards not understanding what I expect at work but I still do it to their managers rather than to them. Its worth though when it comes out in aggression.

I don't like people who use "F" word for granted either- in "live" situation.

The two replies who copied my post have missed my point.
What I was saying is that SOMEONE somewhere has decided for us that it's OK to say "Duck" but NOT OK to say "F*ck", JUST because of the meaning. WHY?
Why would you be so mad if someone called you a "F*cking C*nt", but probably laugh if he/she called you a "Sexual intercoursing vulva"?
And on the same lines, WHO decided the laws on public decency? Why can men strip to the waist, but women can't?
See, the point I'm trying to make, is that it's all arbitrary.

I try not to puctuate every sentance with a swearword.
Having kids has stopped me swearing no-end. I usually only swear at other drivers when they do something dangerous but sometimes i forget the kids are in the car on the backseat and let fly. Shame on me!
Our eldest has only ever repeated one swear word - this shamed me no-end to hear her use bad language and i now really try not to swear at all.
Well - that was the case until i came to Dubai - you see some terrible driving, not much worse that the UK but much more frequently.
il have to curb my tongue when return to blighty for a break.

I think most of us will let one or two go when something annoying happens and it is probably a better way to relieve the tension and irritation rather than kick the cat!
I don't like to hear it in normal conversation however, its a sign of something being lacking in the ability to express oneself.
I think one of the worse things is to hear children with foul mouths. It must be an indication of how their parents talk or lack of will from the parents to control their children. Its no excuse to say that its part of normal life and that they will hear those words anyway. They may well do but they should be disciplined not to use them. I think it would be a great improvement if children were brought up to preserve their natural innocence as always used to be the case. "Streetwise" is not a good thing in my opinion.
It all seems to be a sign of the dreadful decline in standards these days and I regret seeing it.

I work in a heavily industrial all male environment so swear a lot at work.
At home I hardly ever swear and never in front of children.
I never swear in front of my parents and I'm 37.
Cheers

WRT the swearing, every other word at work can be a swear word, but I generally don't swear outside work, though the odd bit does escape from time to time.

Depends who you're speaking to.
If someone only understands you when you're swearing then I'm more than happy to oblige.
I rarely feel the need to swear at a vicar.
