Although this question is for boys,just to put my observation here that,most men wear socks as their compulsory need like carrying a condom or,spraying Lynx on themselves.The reason they give is that they are far too sweaty by nature(they say they work harder,that's why!
).
Fair enough, but why in summer with shorts??Let some air get inside your shoes,FFS!Air will help,won't it?

Pair of these come out in May and go back in the cupboard in mid-Sept or thereabouts. No sock gets anywhere near them. Talc daily and washing machine monthly. Can't be doing with all these prats that think that trainers in 30C+ are cool.

I got horrendous sunburn on my feet once, so I had to cover them up the next day. The only footwear I had with me with sandals and I couldn't buy any trainers... so I had to do it!!
