Very true that it is a "frankenstein" conversion, but for the price I paid it was worth it.
Looked good on the driveway.
PS Classic and Sports Car magazine did a buyers guide in 2002, and the car used (Sport Evolution) was near perfect. So much so a South American buyer recently offered £30,000 to the UK owner for a purchase (he declined to sell).

The engine in the earlier versions was critizised for being "lame" but defended as being "progressive" as you prefer it in a race car. Mind you, this car was designed as a race car first and then made roadworthy.
Performance Car made a very profound buyers guide in one of their last issues.

Is it true that the steering feel on these is about 100% better than any scooby ever was?
Also damn these older M3's need to be used as a reference for how to design new cars. A car you can actually see out of in all directions- and glass below the drivers shoulders. And its not a safty issue but a design issue- a new gen M3 could be made 2006 safe.

i think i'd still have one too if they were right hand drive from factory, thought the left hand drive wouldn't bother me but after about six months it did, loved the dogleg box tho.
