Sorry to hear of your misfortune Sara. Glad you're ok. Look on the bright side: you're ok, the car is ok and if it was the RA navigator they nicked, they'll never find the crackhouse they're looking for cause the damn thing will never get a signal!!!

If you replaced the RAN with the Tomtom and they nicked that, it will efficiently lead them to the crackhouse whereupon they will most likely OD and I very much doubt anyone will give a crap.

Goes around, comes around.

What a nightmare, can't really believe that this stuff happens, I live in a pretty quiet town and stuff like that just doesn't happen.

Mind you less than 1% of the towns population are ethnic minority or black , overall poulation is circa 100k as well.

Keep smiling

Unfortunately not. Satnavs are 'passive' by nature, and only receive, not transmit data.

You have my sympathy Sara. We had my wife's car broken into in mid-feb, in Brighton. Took her new phone (from the glove box) and cost us £500 in replacing the phone and getting the door repaired (no point in claiming by the time you've lost your NCB and paid the excess). Police were helpful, not. It was 11pm at night and they said if we wanted it dusted for prints we'd have to stay in the area till the next day for SOCO to come out (we don't live near Brighton), and if we left the area at all they wouldn't do it. How we were supposed to stay in Brighton with a car we couldn't secure at that time is beyond me. They didn't even leave their desk to look at the car when we drove it to the police station. Still, got a crime number for our troubles. Will learn to not bother next time and just go straight home.

You cant say that !

Mind you, it was an Asain guy that knocked my uncle off his bike, my brother got mugged by two black guys.

Is this just coincidence ?

Sorry to hear about this Sara, I'd have been really shaken if this had happened to me as well. I always lock my doors when driving in Edinburgh and hide my handbag under the seat as well just in case. It's such a shame in this nice weather we can't feel safe driving around with our windows wide open enjoying the summer

Thankfully at the end of the day you are okay, it could have been much worse I suppose

I've followed this thread.
To me, what is of note, is how so many folks say well at least you're ok.
That we now accept this sort of criminal act and don't expect much response from the Police says volumes about the breakdown in society that is now taken as normal.
What will be the future then?

Went to the royal navy open day at the weekend, and seeing the police strolling around with sub machine guns ,cant help thinking this is the only way to go with everyday policing to get the scum off the streets, cant imagine these trumped up gangster wannabes being so cocky with the threat of a plastic bullet up their ****. Sure it would act as a big deterrent.

when i spoke on the phone to Black Spot about swapping to the Snooper the bloke said they were having teething problems, lots of things are failing with the RA's. i'd give them a call and threaten them with Trading Standards for selling a sub standard product.
my snooper is instant, very easy to understand and very reliable, i am glad i made a fuss about the ****e RA, give it a go

****, Sara! You were so lucky they only did a ****** and run..I'm glad to hear you are ok - although an expense, the satnav can be replaced, whereas you can't.
