true and a fair point as they are within a much lower price bracket, but not all young scoob drivers are like that. im not just i see the point that ste300 was coming out with.

i dont know if this is "good" but from the lights the other day i beat a crappy looking boxter from a standing start. nothing serious and after i saw he was dragging behind i let him overtake and slowed to the speed limit of 40. anything stupid about that? roads wer quiet too.

From that description my "old" WRX is way above average. As said earlier in the thread, this is supposed to be a Subaru enthusiasts forum. Why slate the older models?

Not entirely relevant I am also the wrong side of 30 (only just though)!

You're about on a par at normal speeds, I think. You'll beat him off the lights, but I think he's a bit quicker rolling.

Being beaten in a race is scientifically proven to reduce the length of your *****.

see what your saying, but most of these cars trying to punch above their weight are standard apart from exterioe "styling" modifications.

my car is totally standard even with the sheddy exhaust. ive not spent serious money (yet) on trying to punch above my weight on whatevers next up the performance pyramid.

There are a fair few classics around me generally driven by younger guys (ie under 25) none have lexus lights, none are chavs and all love their cars. Why does being young and having a scoob make you out to be a bad person on here? Oh and fine there are plenty of very quick hatch's out there, sorry to generalise.

i think the general age on here is a little older than me (as an average) so maybe we get targeted for all the worlds problems...

Well yeah it is a little unimaginative, but ive driven a few and they are quite fun..i thin the reason ppl do it, well the ones i know who have, have started to modify their first car and by the time they want a quicker car have spent so much on it, wisely or not, that it makes more sense to just keep the same car and make that quicker. i would love to see, and especially hear a supercharged v8 tr7. My dads got a supercharged 67 mustang..that is amazing! except on a b road

andythejock01wrx, I drive a cheap Japanese four door saloon with a 2.0 litre turbo engine that has lots of tacky stuff on it already from the factory, and which benefits not at all from amateur attempts to make it look even worse, but I like the way it handles, stops and accelerates (with some tuning). I previously drove a German RWD coupe that looked nice and respectable but didn't live up to the performance hype, and before that a standard looking and quiet, but heavily modified Scooby.

I am sure some are but others like mine are built for fun on the drag strip for very little cost. That said though there is a Corsa running 11's on throttle bodies and nitrous and a mate of mine has nearly finished rebuilding his 500+ bhp Nova turbo which should also be comfortably into the 11's.

I wouldn't waste your money on a supercharger!

To call a car gay simply because you don't like it is a little childish don't you think?

I don't care about what people look at. My Nova is a shed, cheap and fast though running low 13's with scope for more. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday down at Santa Pod.

It's a hobby for me, not a fashion show.

No cosmetically modified cars look good. Without exception they look a complete abortion.
