Hey John B,

13,800 posts !! How do you find time to drive your Evo ?!
Had a shot in an EvoVIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII last year and thought it was "awesome"!

About to trade the '95 Prelude 2.2 Vtec I've owned for the last year for an
'01 WRX. Hope it's fun ! Sadly couldn't stretch to Evo VIII.

Advice - are standard Subaru brakes best for normal/enthusiastic driving or are Ferodo/Pagit better ? Which have best bite ?

Also, will a K & N Panel filter provide better responsiveness than simply replacing the Subaru filter ?

Cheers matie !

there are plenty of scoobs with "cosmetic modifications" on here and they all look loads better than standard. my opinions not gospel but neithers yours. i guess its a general debate regarding personal taste.

I put a splitter, fog light covers and new (lighter and wider) wheels on.. does this count as being cosmetically modified? Id bet the majority of cars on here have been altered cosmetically in some way.

I put some Werther's Originals in the glovebox, and I replaced the tape recorder with a CD player.

Buppa po for pm because of his sense of style, not his post count

Advice - are standard Subaru brakes best for normal/enthusiastic driving or are Ferodo/Pagit better ? Which have best bite ?
This is a heat range of pad question... choose your compromise. The stock pads work well from cold, don't squeal and are not too dusty, but they can deposit pad material unevenly when hot. I tried stock, Mintex 1155, DS2500, EBC ceramic red. Liked the last two, best of all on AP 4 pots though.

Also, will a K & N Panel filter provide better responsiveness than simply replacing the Subaru filter ?
Not really IMHO at stock power levels. Change if you need a front mounted intercooler when you'll need to ditch the airbox. Cats are the things to remove first - three of them on the bugeye WRX. See my reply in your other thread about values, lots of overpriced cars about...

Cosmetically thats it..then bailey dump valve and scorpion exhaust, silicone hoses all round, 4 pots and and sti ra 'box (**** hot on acceleration, just **** on motorway) im in the process of building a new engine from scratch, 2.5 litre, thought id rather built it right first time than spending alot on the 2.0
