Totally indignant, I ask why , and do they consider it reasonable to tax me 500 pounds extra over a crappy SP20, inspite of a trouble free year of motoring . .

The reply was that its not necessarily because of the SP20, but rather because the criteria for the risk assessment have changed . . (what ever that means . .) . .

Right . . .Question . .

Is insurance not supposed to go down year on year, and is my insurance company trying to rip me off . . And

Can anyone, please recommend an insurance company so i could collect some quotes . .

MAny thanks . .
I guess you must drive for a living as you gott an sp20, maybe that's why it went up.

Yes, if your circumstances change, like say over 25, 30 etc, insurance will go down. But premiums still go up every year anyway.....inflation and all that..

Mark

BTW hers was £405
my insurance has never just " gone up anyway" a years no claims is worth 10% and inflation is only 3%

cheers bud,my excess is £500,thats with a plan, however the quote from kieth michaels is as i said in the £600's,but i'm now down to just 3pnts and 4 yrs ncb.i think having the car for a few years makes a big difference(p1).good luck in your search, keep us posted

cheers

And an SP30 is roughly 40 notes - so ive no idea why a 500 increase ( either some big other changes or your making it up ..

directline, 29 years old, clean license, 02 STI Prodrive on the drive in apparently bad part of Derby £699 fc inc ncb protected. Went up when i then added mods but they are very resonable in fact the STI is cheaper to insure than my T plate 200SX. Have to say I have never bee nable to say a bad word about directline except that they now charge admin costs for addres changes and other changes.

i thought it was a reasonable quote for the yearold. thing is il still be 20 when i renew because i took out there 10 month ncb accellorator thing as they were the only one to touch me so id be using them for a while. if i was 21 when i renew it would go down i think

Yeah, to a maximum amount of five years bonus! I havent claimed for 15 years, does that mean I have 15 years NCB and the insurance company has to pay me to insure the car!? And its not just inflation, there is a rate increase as well.
