Angry Fookin spittin :(

Well here I am, sat squarely between a rock and a very hard place.

As suspected the repair shop (and I use the term in it's loosest possible context) doesn't have a leg to stand on, I apparently have them bang to rights. I have been given a list of quotes from the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982 and details of court findings against garages in these circumstnces as long as my arm. It would be down to these guys to prove they did provide "acceptable levels of service and care". Not down to me to prove they did not.

BUT
<solicitor>
"In most cases like this the garage will accept your offer of a court appearance out of pure ignorance, and whilst waiting for the court hearing I'll guarantee no work would be carried out on your car." "How long? It could take months"

And knowing this jerk he'd drag it out as long as he could.

I'm fukking fuming and very tempted to name them

Feel for you m8,if it helps your not the only one to suffer at the hands of cowboys though, Im just in the process of starting court proceedings against the company who fecked up my re-spray not just once but on the following 3 times it went back to be put right! They also completely messed up my other halfs re-spray too, leaving rusting wheel arches, paint flaking off etc
So far they have ignored all letters so I have completed the court paperwork and its ready to go in less than 7 days if they still dont respond.
Sick of cr*p workmanship and this is the final straw which is why i refuse to let them get away with the mess they have made.
Good luck with getting your situation sorted.

It's a real shame you can't name and shame them on here. SN should realise
some people on here may have work booked in at the un named garage and so are probably heading for the same problems.
If they've stated to you that the parts were stolen then surely that's all you'll be doing if you name the company where they were stolen from. (any paperwork confirming their liability.)
How can repeating what they've admitted be considerred libel. You are not insinuating they've done anything untoward. (although others on here might though, in which case the moderators should remove the comments quickly.)
Just start a new thread stating that certain parts were stolen from your car at ******** on the ******* and should the parts be seen to be offered for sale could someone please inform you.

Prob can't say, but

Some one on here had a problem with a dealer and named names, It got to the point where nothing was happening so we (I ) tried to get the dealer to notice how much bad press they were getting on snet and give them an oppotunity to put their side or put things right. They just went for Scoobynet instead.

Wonder how the Beeb can do those programs, hum,,,,,,,, (thinks), they have lots of money to pay the lawyers.

Anyway, got thrown out of a shop today !!!

Went in to complain about a fire supplied to my wifes 80yr old Nan (it don't light and they have tried to fix it twice). Bloke got really shirty and tried to throw myself and brother inlaw out (hee hee, nice when both are over 6'3") anyway, finally offered to remove it and refund the money, we will wait and see.
