The words 'tread off the tires' springs to mind. Unless it's just for the challenge there can't be any point to that. The delivery must be too savage to get that power down, I'll bet it can still spin the wheels at 100mph.

We should all be glad of video's like this and the chav's in an RS video not so long ago. It just goes to show that people out there go so far and make such an effort just to say "I've over-taken a scoob". I feel quite proud that people feel the have to over-take us Its obviously a big deal.....

Hmm vid says "160bhp", I can hear a turbo spooling on that clio and the standard 2.0 16v is nigh on 160bhp..

Both of them are good drivers, the Impreza was keeping a good line on the corners and he wasnt ****ing around with brakeing, not for a standard car anyway!

I noticed he had good lines, which suggests he listened to the tutorial beforehand. But he wasn't really firing up to them, hard on the brakes just enough to keep it straight then firing out. 160BHP says it all, 160 vs 240+ means one has to be lazy or just cruising or inexperienced the other determined and knowledgable. From the mod's you can see/hear i would also say this wasn't the Clio's first time round a track.
I overtook a new-age in my sprinter van the other day, i was determined to get back to the depot as early as possible, i doubt he was even aware i was there. Maybe next time i should film it.

That would be a brilliant thread. Remember the camera next time you're at work!

PMSL ........ so just because the guy in the Clio knows the track better than the STi driver, is probably a more experienced track driver than the STi driver and wants the STi to move so he can make progress, he is a chav who just wants to overtake a Subaru. What planet are you on winkle?

I will of course bear your words in mind and make sure I wear a Burberry hat when I flash Scoobs and 911's out of the way at the weekend. Before you ask 127bhp french clutter ......

I live for these threads

ok i know that clio and the driver. he isnt a chav at all. why is he a chav just because he drives a clio track car and wants to play with the 'unbeatable' scoobies? ok fair enough the title is enought to wind you up, but still lol

Do you pay £160 for a track day to potter about all day or what??

The clio is a 1994 16v, in 449 blue, which the Williams 1 and 2 came in also.

The engine is a bareley modded Williams 2.0 16v lump, with just an exhaust, manifold and filter. The car is very light, with poly windows, lightweight rims, stripped out, etc. Engine power around 170fhp and weight around 850kg. power to weight around 200/ton. how much does the STI weight? with 260hp? (not sure on actual power) Similar PTW?

turbo? i thought you guys owned turbod cars? dont you know what one sounds like

Driver is also a regular track day driver, sti driver obviousy isnt from his driving skills lol!

I know there are a lot of french hatch haters on here, but a decent setup clio with a strong lump is extremely good on track. The handling is excellent even in standard form, with coilovers really impressive. (iv had 4 of them in various flavours over the years, as well as a scooby, so i know first hand )

i had an import classic this time last year with 280hp, and my current track day clio would wipe the floor with it.

Great track cars. Who cares if its not worth as much as the scooby.

End of day the clio is a top track car, the sti is a great all rounder, if he didnt want to play he should have pulled in at first chance and let him past.

I dont see why people slate videos like this calling the drivers chavs and the cars tin cans? Bit immature isnt it. If the clip was overtaking on a McDonalds drive through then fair enough, but its on track, we all have the same interests here, are people not allowed to play just because their cars arent worth as much as the competition? How many 205's. Williams, etc do you see on track? are Westfields tin cans also? their drivers chavs too because they are having a doo with a scooby in their inferior cars?

The clio has good power to weight, its great on track, scoobies are not unbeatable.

hang on whats the whole point in motorsport? track days? drag strips?

to potter about changing gear at 4krpm? or to have some fuking fun. christ.... just because its not worth as much as a scooby doesnt mean they dont have the right to have a play on track ffs! or is it due to a such inferior cars actually being more impressive on track than a scooby?

This is me & my car in this vid...the provocative title was done just to try to wind up a few yank sti drivers on streetfire....not a serious title to the video.

Although the guy in the sti was actually bit of a chump lol He was slow to move over throughout the day and was outbraking slower cars up the inside (nearly causing a collision with a 182).
video here...

Craig (CJAF7R) has pretty much covered all the facts cheers fella..I hope to see a properly driven sti at the next trackday I'm at....as this fella clearly was'nt taking the car near it's limits...

I would just like to say, good video and very well driven. BTW no-one is calling you a chav, if you look at his remark he said the guy in the RS was a chav. I personally, don't have the driving skills to drive as quick as your video shows and I can personally admit it. Until you have the experience you will always struggle against semi modded cars. (Does that make me a chump then?)
