Wasn't a happy bunny.

All because i looked a 'little bit' like an e-fit the police had released!!!
Are you sure it wasn't someone over at a rival insurance company trying to take out the competition???

I would complain to the Chief Constable .... Send a letter in, with accompanying photo.

To cut a long story short, About 2 years or so ago, on the M56 ......just minding my own business, doing 70, in a flow of traffic..... Traffic cops came hurtling behind me, pulled me over - When asked did i know what i'd been pulled for i hadnt a clue...they eventually took me to the back of the car, got out a tape measure and measured the letters .......mine was an import, its had an import plate on, which had been through 2 MOTS. I was told my letters were 1.5 mm too narrow, i told him my eyes werent calibrated to that degree of accuracy, and i got cautioned, they gave me a producer and fine.

I had to get new plates, which i did, fitted them, and photo'd both old and new.

I sent a letter/ with photo's to the C.C , with a cheque for payment, but asked him to decide if i was in the wrong ...... a week later i got my cheque back, with a letter of apology.

So it can work in your favor to write in, but dont be pig headed about it.

I just cant understand how now the DVLA can charge astronomical amounts for number plates that can only be read right, if you illegally space them....... in an advert

Thats a serious offence to be locked up incorrectly for? What were their grounds of arrest??
