350bhp mods

No,
with 350bhp and a good amount of torque, you'll likely break the standard gearbox within a short space of time unless you are very gentle all the time. You can get re-con/breakers yard boxes for around £700 exchange, but you don't want to be doing that job every few months.
I would be tempted to lower your power goals to around the 300-320bhp region, as you need to spend lots for the little gains above that, and invest the extra money in decent brakes and suspension so you can safely use the extra power.
For example, and extra 30 - 40bhp will make you perhaps 0.5 - 1 second faster around Knockhill, but good tyres, brakes and suspension would be worth around 3 - 5 seconds per lap.

For that power level, an STi box would be ok wouldnt it ?
And Im pretty sure they find their way to the breakers yard fairly often

so what gearbox would reach that levels
the 350bhp is just a mark and im not saying i will go that far
im just wanting to know what is needed incase i do decide to go that far

I agree! wouldnt aim for the 350 unless you want to change the gearbox!
I had mine mapped last week by andy F (prob 320-340bhp) @ 1.5 bar and the clutch lasted about an hour, getting an uprated one next week.
my spec is as follows (MY 97 UK)
TD05H big 16G - £420
Wrapped tubular headers - £250
Full decat- £480
Fuel pump- £80
FPR- £200
Nismo 550 injectors- £375
FMIC- £400
Apexi FC- £400
Apexi AVCR-£280
HKS filter - £150
Remap- £280
Clutch- £350
£3665..........ouch!

With a FMIC, that should keep the charge cool enough at that level, plus Id imagine that the mapper would map within a good safety margin. Plus if he does go for an Apexi, he could always back the timing off by a couple of degrees across the whole ign map (which takes 2 seconds) on a hot day just to be safe and as long as he keeps his eye on the knock activity Im sure he'd be fine.
As for internals etc, again, Id have thought they would be capable of handling 340 - 350?

I suppose with all this money you're going to be spending, you might as well see how much you'd get for your WRX and add the modding money to that and buy an STi with decat, filter & ecu which would be 310 - 320bhp

And what will you learn about your car? nowt that's what
I had a serious fuel leak in the engine bay yesterday, but because I know why it happened and where, it cost me about 50p to fix. If I didnt know how the mods work, it would have had to be booked in to a garage, towed there to stop it catching fire and then been charged labour to sort it.

There is, cos you just end up doing the same stuff but on a "bigger" platform and end up with 380 - 400
Obviously if I had the choice again I would have gone Sti in the first place, but I knew I had a good car and I didnt want to swap it.
I dont think I could use 380-400 on the roads anyway as It'd be too fast for me

Thats what I did when I started modding my MY99 UK Turbo, decided to get an STi so I didnt need to mod it.... nice idea but it only lasted for about a week after getting the STi
Anyway, happy modding... once you start... its a slippery (read as: expensive) slope...

saw a thread on here a while back regarding gearbox codes for different models, and for the life of me i cant find it now.... but pretty certain the sti and jap wrx gearbox codes were the same....i know there has been talk the sti versiond had special treatment to cope with the extra load generated by the sti varients etc.... and thats why i remember being pleasantly suprised to read my wrx version was the same...... could be very wrong, and id like to read it again to confirm yea or nay as a box rebuild so soon after the power upgrades was not was i envisaged after all i have an sti spec box dont i? lol

Dean/ABZ : If you want 350 bhp then go for it. If you fit a five speed box from an STi 5/6, these are more than capable of handling the torque you will have. Start looking for one now, expect to pay £500-£600 for a good one and have it in your garage for when you eventually break what you have now.
Check what your existing gear ratios are to avoid any **** ups.
If you want something stronger than that but unnecessary at your power level, then go for a six speed.
After that you are in to special gear set kits and would be best to use a six speed casing even if you stay with five speed gear set.
