Yes, but Gordon Murray can design cars that use carbon fibre and light weight alloys. You're not too likely to get those on a 20 grand car are you.

Your analogy is to compare a medium sized four/five door, three box (or reasonable sized hatch) five seater, with a three door four seater mini with a small boot. Next you'll be comparing the WRX with an Ariel.

Please compare llike with like.

I would ahve to agree with this one.

Plus i find the old model of cars have more charactor about them and you feel more in touch with the driving Experience as there are less driver aids! Most new cars look the same as the designers go around from company to comapny using the same shapes and designes

Not very nice, is it?
There is a difference between a stereotype and the truth though. The brits have terrible teeth. Just look at Tony Blair.

No figures for the BMW 323iSE but it won't be quicker than a 325i SE. But the BMW does have a higher top speed than both Impreza's which isn't much use when on the roads.
The 323i is quicker! it has the revised mb52 engine, where the power comes in at 3400 rpm, as oppose to 4200 of the 325's with the mb50's
its all about the torque in the bavarians.

never had a problem in either my newage or my old classics, mainly on accelerating up slip roads

Although the 306gti6 i recently had could pretty much out pace my classic wagon once rolling in 3rd
