What's sad about asking advise on a car BBS. You may find this surprising but there are some clever well switched on people on here, that give very good advise.

I reckon you should keep your muppet opinions to yourself mate, as no-one is interested in stupid comments.

I thought they were alright for that time being to begin with as a light entertainment.The problem is that kids started to idolise them and, as some said here is very correct that children adapting to their dressing up style etc just wasn't right. I remember taking my daughter to school disco when she was 6.I dressed her up in gorgeous party frock.Most of the other 6 yrs old were in little crop tops,little skirts and lillte high heels with make-up on; trying to look like Spice Girls!
Their proud parents thought they looked great!
Pop scene does have it's impact on our children.Christina's 200 piercings all over her body is a great inspiration for the youngsters.As parents if we keep some decipline,it will get through their heads that looking like a freak with pins all over you is not necessary.
Underage piercing is just not on.No reputed piercer will do perform it anyway.

Take no notice of that troll babber, sometimes its good to get a second opinion on things and thats all youv'e done mate,and for what it's worth your opinion seems to get 99% backing fron the rest of us,so you must be doing something right.

Like you said i suppose its not the end of the world ,and you need to keep the ex sweet for access to the kids,so chin up mate!!

Is there really a correlation between positive chlamydia tests and number of piercings, or do I offer more tests to those with more piercings? Otherwise, my only professional dealing with the piercings is when they are horribly infected because the little blighters won't remove them when things go pustular.

For what its worth, I think 12 is too young.

But then you see many 12 year olds with pierced ears and no one seems to comment about that these days. Surely the same points that some have made apply to the ears as well?

The thing is, though, its hard to generalise and I would suggest that whilst 12 is too young, the individual themselves has to be taken into account. Some 12 years olds are as mature as some 16 year olds.

As a mom, i think i would agree with most on here and ask her to wait until shes older, BUT remebereing when I was a teenager, my Mom would never let me even get my ears peirced, so i ended up totally rebelling, bot my nose, bellybutton and ears done (about 8 times!) I still think now that the main push for it was my mom not letting me have my ears done. (Just to add, I did grow out of, and other than that i was a very good, respectful child!)
Soooo glad ive only got boys!

Well, I feel much calmer about it 3 days after learning it’s already been done!! I'm still very annoyed with my Ex and mildly annoyed with my daughter for the way this has been handled. But there's no point crying over spilt milk. Let hope she has to remove it as it doesn't heal properly and that's the end of it. Few mates have mentioned Ex may have let her have it done to get me biting, but I’m not sure even she’d stoop that low. Although she did sell my RS2000, but that’s another story

When I phoned my Ex to discuss it, she was with the girls (as I could hear them, so they could hear the Ex) and she told me to "f*** off" as it was none of my business and I had made my eldest daughter upset so she was crying. How I did that I don’t know as I hadn’t spoken to her, but I can hazard a guess the Ex had been **** stirring. I spoke to eldest daughter 10 minutes later and she said she was "feeling guilty for upsetting me", but she’d not been crying. I explained why I was upset, and told her not to worry, we would discuss the situation face to face when we saw the next time. All the time, I could hear my Ex misses laughing and making snide comments in the background. Not good for the kids, but they seem to be used to it.

I had them this weekend (all of them for once) and couldn’t bring myself to discuss it properly with her. I explained that I was furious with her mother and I spoken to a few people who wouldn’t have agreed to a piercing at 12 years old. She said she’d wish she waited till she was 16. Told all the rest of the girls, they are allowed to have piercing and / or tattoos only after there 16th birthday. I do hope that’ll be the end of this now.

Only time will tell.

Unless I've missed something, your daughter can always have the thing removed and then get another done when she's a bit older. If she really doesn't want it, why don't you suggest that as a compromise?

My sister had hers done and she was told that if she took it out and it healed up, then it couldn't be re-pierced due to scar tissue?

Don't you believe it. I had the same problem with one of my sons. He went on for ages about wanting his ears pierced and I did the usual..."no son of mine is walking through this door with his ears pierced" type speech. "You can wait til you're 16"



A couple of years later, when he reached 16, in he walked with his ears pierced He had the last laugh
