It just takes time and persistence Alan, besides what would you do if you got a time you were happy with

Well i'm need of another gearbox, as this one isn't worth fixing. ![Frown](images/smilies/frown.gif)
Casing is cracked and plenty bits have been damaged.
If i can find a used 5 speed gearkit, i'd pay the extra, but can't afford new. And want to stick to a 5 speeder, as i've recently bought a twin plate clutch for the 5 speed. Anyone know of a gearkitted 5 speed for sale???

Sorry, let me expand.
If you are fitting a 6 speed to an engine that had a 5 speed, then you can leave the flywheel on the engine and use a 5 speed clutch on the 6 speed.
Of course if you have a car with a 6 speed as standard, then the engine would already have the flywheel for a 6 speed, hence you would definately need a 6 speed clutch when replacing it.

Got you. Cheers guys. Spose i'd need the rear diff to go with the 6 speeder though?
Maybe my options aren't too bad afterall.

Not if you find a UK 6 speed (pre06 I think), but I'm sure JB can tell you all about it
