How much power do the standard jap imports have compared to your 360bhp?
Any idea how much it would be to be mapped without the octane booster?

Stunning looking car.
One last daft question is do the dials light up red on that version?

Hi mate, the book figure is 280 bhp.

Have a read through this thread......

https://www.scoobynet.com/end-phase-....html?t=283364

It starts off with the base figures and goes on from there for Bob's car, mine is more or less the same spec

Bob Rawle did the mapping on mine, so it may be worth asking him how much the mapping would be back to just SUL. Although it has got 5 bottles left, which is 10 tanks, so there is no rush to do it. Bob can be contacted on rbr@brdevelopments.com

Yes this is the version with the red dials, and damn sexy they are too. Considering you spend most of your time in the car looking out

Like this....the best pic I could find, not my car though.

Free BTTT for fellow Black STI. Looking very nice and my Redstuff pads do move on reverse too.
Good luck.

this is just what I'm looking for
Before I start getting serious about you car I've a couple of questions.

excuse my ignorance, but is it possible to map it to take standard Uk unleaded? What effect will this have? Or does it always have to take Super unleaded as a minimum?
Cheers

You could feasibly map it for normal unleaded, however you would lose an awful lot of the performance.

I would personally never run an STi on anything less than SUL as they were designed to run on 101+ ron fuel in the first place. 98 ron is a drop, 95 is pushing it too far in my humble opinion.

If you were going to do loads of miles, then remap it to save petrol money, but even a boggo standard UK would loose power.

Remap to SUL, maybe. You'll loose a little bit of Bhp (340-350's) Shaun (Webmaster) has effectively the same spec vehicle and was running similar to that. Obviously, he has fitted a Hybrid now and has moved on.

I have fitted an FMIC to the same spec car and now have 377bhp/376ibs with fantastic midrange. but, im still on standard twin scroll turbo and injectors. And there is more to come if I uprate either one of those.

Nathan's car is by no means stressed to its limits in its current tune.

Can I just add that I would like someone from North Scotland (Preferably the Orkney's) to buy this car, so I do not have any local competition .

Just to back up what has already been said......

Mine has been mapped to run on SUL without the need for any Octane Boosters and runs a very healthy 370-380bhp on a stock engine (even though it is a Spec C engine it is comparable to a STi engine in reality). Never caused me any issues engine wise what so ever and is in tip top condition.

Dont let the Octane Booster mapping put you off as this can be easily adjusted for straight SUL only by a minor remapping session.

Sure the car can run on normal unleaded (if appropriately mapped) and can be 100% safe in doing so....... but you will lose a shedload of performance.

Nathan,
Cracking looking car.... and great value imho. Good luck with the sale.

Regards,
Shaun.

Nathan,

I have emailed you through your pistonheads weblink about the car - sorry for the whole bunch of questions!

Its best if you include both my email addresses in any email reply so I can pick them up either at home or at work.

Thanks

Bob Rawle mapped mine on a tank of Esso 97, no mechanical mods at all and it is running about 310bhp.

Good luck with the sale Nathan stunning car in black!

Yes, they have equal length headers, and tend to wail like a motorbike rather than burble. Different, but just as good.

Watching her drive away was VERY, VERY hard indeed.

But she's gone to a good home and I'm sure she'll be well looked after
