I've said it before and I will say it again, This forum is populated by people or persons who have little or no experiance on owning any type of subaru, They then proceed to slag off every marque of subaru they can, comparing them to cars that they will never drive(let alone own!), EVER!
That is why threads like this should be deleted by the mods before the halfwits who troll on here get chance to type their dribble!
I will say this again, It's about time this fourm was regulated better, even requiring a modest joing fee( like some other jap car fourms) Those of us who use it for information will have no quibble paying up, Those who troll will move on elsewhere.......................

My experience is this........
I owned and modified a subaru for 3 years.
I used the car on road and on track.
I go on track once a month.
I'm an average driver on both road and track (i think)
I have therefore seen more than my fair share of scoobs on track, some driven well, some driven badly.

http://media.putfile.com/spinscoob
I have seen more than my fair share of other cars driven on track, some driven well and some badly.
In my opinion that gives me the right to comment on this sort of thread.

I'm always happy with my little hatch
I love my Rover, yes Rover.
I do however know the limitations with all of them......

I don't dissagree, I have a very similar experiance with cars and driving, I would however say that when you put you're point acroos in such a negative way you will annoy some of us subaru owners,
You may not have thought your impreza was what you wanted, For me however my impreza is superb both on and off the track , I do not go forcing my positive opionions down peoples throats so why do you have to force you're negative ones?
I'm off down the pub now to live a little, but if this needs continuation then i'll have a look tomorrow afternoon when i get home from a hard days graft!

N*UFO if your experience is similar to mine talking about road and track work why is your only comparison racing 911's down the A14 slip road? Sorry but I find that comical. Can you beat him from the light too?
I'm not sure what negative opinions you mean? If its about the STi std brakes being ****e lets find someone who uses their car hard on track who disagrees with me. Not a negative opinion its a fact.
If its about the understeer, point me to someone who uses their MY03 era std car on track who doesn't feel the same?
As I have said before I enjoyed subaru ownership and still love some models. I will however comment on threads where I think bull**** is being spouted.
Gary
Great thread by the way

Here's my plan:
1) Dirty Diesel into the Porsches lovely new fuel tank
2) Add a little sugar
3) Put the difference the cars cost in pound coins, into the porsches front boot
4) Get my boss totally wasted the night before (obviously letting him pay)
That way, I might actually stand a chance!!
Honestly thought, I'm not fussed one bit if I can't keep with him, I totally understand the cars are in a very different league. Just wanted to put the question to you lot for the advice and feedback you've given!
Cheers! MikeyB
P.S BOB, if the items are still for sale, I'll still take them off your hands, I;ve been away mate with work! Apologies!!

Driving a car on a track is all about car control, My 12 y/o son could drive beyond the limits of the brakes of my impreza, that is not the point!
If its about the understeer, point me to someone who uses their MY03 era std car on track who doesn't feel the same? as above really ok so the handling is a bit vauge, but again you learn to drive that particular car on it's merits, not take it out , trash the f**k out of it, scrub the tyres melt the brakes and then complain becase the car is crap! No one would ever compare an F1 car with a touring car, But i'm sure everyone can see the parallels here, the F1 car will be much faster but cost much more, but is the touring car more fun to drive? I dont know, It's the same with any expensive car on a track compaired with an impreza.

Yes second that - post up what happened.
My feel is that the scoob is the ultimate all rounder. Its huge grip and controlable handling on the limit make it one of utimate twisty road weapons .
Kind of a very good jack of all trades but master of none - which is its brilliance
Agree with GPug ...However on a dry track my money would be on the 997. Definately more suited to these conditions especialy In terms of handling, braking
Driver ability is the key factor as always.
Hope you nail him - however
Steve

Not sure what the issue is with the bearings on scoob?
I did one in mine and it took the carrier with it. A friend has done both sides twice or maybe three times and the guy at the weekend did his with the car being about a year old I think?
Drive shafts on the pug ...... One in 121K miles. I can live with that
