I got this info on this sent through by Sky too. Looks very good value for money. Currently with BT on the 2mb deal. Registered a while ago to be upgraded to 8mb but still nothing yet. The Sky deal at 16mb looks good.
Thing is I wouldn't want the McAfee as I don't need it, also wouldn't want the router as I already have a Linksys wireless router set up. I presume that's ok though and I can just use my existing equipment?
Main downside is as someone else has mentioned losing my current @btinternet.com email address that I've had for donkeys years now and everyone knows.
Has anyone gone onto this Sky deal yet then? Any feedback?

So how do you fix it if it goes down, or you need to change stuff? I like the sound of the Sky offer (though I'm quite happy with Nildram to be honest) but don't like the idea of a net-newbie-type black box arrangement.

To be honest, I have no idea what you're supposed to do if things go wrong!
Unless I'm missing something, there is no way to gain access to the router. The debug hack doesn't work on it (it has obviously been fixed!), the SSID and key are supplied as default.
If it is reset (a quick reset, or a full on 20-second press while power is off, then hold down while power is plugged back in), it seems to restore the sky details!
Unless anybody else has any idea (apart from taking it apart and trying to flash it that way!?), then it's not much use to me!
What happens if I wanted to change from channel 11 to 6, because of interference?
Making it easy to use is good for some people, but its bloody annoying for me!!

Yeah, but I don't know if it will be of any use to anybody else. The only people that its of use to subscribe to sky broadband (because you can't get into the settings to change ISP details, etc), and they will already have a free router!
