"6) Creaking noise when steering to left side at low speed - new steering rack ordered - will be fitted soon!"

This is the worst issue, all the others are warranty items and could be expected from any manufacturer really. Many have had new steering racks which have then gone faulty again. Same fault afflicts the A3. There is no fix for this fault and when the warranty runs out- any owner will be up **** creek. Meanwhile with typical VW 'customer service' they try and make owners wait as long as possible by ensurung these parts are in short supply. People are waiting upto 6 months for a replacement.

All this on top of far worse build quality and cheap feeling materials used in the construction of these new generation VW's.

The MKIV may have had many faults but it at least felt like a quality bit of kit.

VW have lost it in a similar way to Mercedes a few years ago.

Apparently the MkV is costing more to build than expected...

Reading between the lines though, most owners/ex-owners who have posted do rate them..
