And shell doing 98.6 and no bio ethanol in it either. So why put 97 in if you have the choice?
I'm reserving judgement on the bio ethanol 99 from Tesco until someone who knows what they're talking about says it's OK and there's some history.

Was surprised to see the post that Shell have opted out to an Irish Company to sell their fuel as they don't seem to be making much money?
Why is it, that the UK has the most expensive fuel on the planet if Shell aren't making money.
Don't know about you but, it seems to be going 1 way uuuuupppp!
THanks all.

When I was a teenager in the sixties (yes, yes, I know i'm an old fart ) I worked an evening job as a Shell forecourt attendant, Shell and BP were the same company then and often Shell and BP fuel was delivered in the same tankers.
Maybe there's still some tie-up between the companies.

BIG G,
Were they really the same Firm? And what happened to make them part?
Still don't understand why Shell are giving away Sites to Competitors?
Kind regards

Shell don't make (the bulk) money from forecourt deliveries, the profit are locked in much higher up their delivery chain when they dig the stuff out of the ground and sell it on the crude market. You probably have not hear of most of Shell's competitors because they are not in the forecourt business - not enough margin.

Is it the one near Hagley/Little Chef, cos if it is, I've just lost my 3rd Optimax Oasis in 2 weks??
Thanks.

Hello BLUEPOLAR BEAR,
Thanks for that, I was under the misappprehension that Shell/Esso/ etc owned the Sites.
Neat idea really, getting everone else to do the upfront stuff.
Still can't understand their logic, they know we need Optimax to do the Scooby good, they know we will pay more for it, still don't get it cos, whatever their policy ifff, there are fewer Shell Units, Scooby Drivers can't buy Optimax.
Sales go down??
Anyway, I'm just a simple Scooby driver who will have to go further to get Optimax, OOORRRRR wll I find something as good without all the hassle?
Who knows?
Thanks for alll your views from around the UK.
Kind regards

I’ve only got two Optimax stations within a 30 mile radius now. Last time I use BP Ultimate was in a UR Quattro, it nearly went to sleep

Thanks,
That's the next one if the one at Hagley/Little Chef closes.
Ws in the ex Shell at the Bell Pub on the A491 Stourbridge road & a Scooby driver was not a happy bunny & told the BP chap so.
He was sympathetic & said Shell are hard work, they stop supplying petrol if you have a querry on any of their invoices whether they are wrong or not!
In the end, the contract was up for renewal and BP have been very active around here and are nicking Shell business.
If anyone from Shell is reading this, what is happening, we need to buy Optimax, don't you want our business?
