Get a grip and chill out.

If you dont like a specific model fair enough..... but giving it a proper slating when so many people who go on here have them is arrogant and up your own ****.

Im not sure of the best impreza off the prod line, but I hear the spec Cs and the new 06 ones are the car to go for!

IMO I think my car is everything I ever dreamed of(not including melinda messenger) when I was 14(8years ago)

I wanted an impreza the day I saw McCrae driving one.

Classics are abit aged now, but nobody can complain that they were the car to be had in there day (maybe even now) The newer facelifts were just as good.
Bugeys went slightly down hill as the front looked hideous without the morrettes on.
blob eys are lovely, but they all needed the classics to be here! Without them there would have been no 06 spec C

Bow down to classic RA (but only with AC and EL windows)

For me it has to be the 06 sti spec-c type ra but then I would say that wouldn't I,years earlier it would have to have been the 22b.

Most people are picking their own scoobs but look where the developement is and you will see which is the best car off the production line

If you own one who owns the other and what colour is it?
From my understanding theres only 2 in the uk.

They only come in blue, white and silver

Tony,

that would qualify as best if the criteria is parts bin special

It is certainly not a focused driver's car as it the heavier STI plus an STI parts bin special raid.

If it was really intended to be a driver's car it would be based on the Spec C RA and improved, if that were possible, from there

Long live the Spec C

Like the way you describe the S204 as a parts bin special though you now have to understand that without the S series cars you wouldnt have the spec c type ra's because the developement is in the S series cars
Is it more focused than a Spec C? ok its heavier, it also produces 40ps more than the spec c out of the box, and more torque, has pretty much all the developement (and more) that the spec c has, engine, suspension etc and a larger vf42? turbo.
If you want to see what subaru is doing next, just look here

Tony

PS love my spec c but this..... totally different beast.

I would love to see that evidence behind that!

I see a lot more evidence in Subary spending days preparing and adjusting a production line Spec C RA to get a coveted Ring time of under 8 minutes. I don't see any such development of the S series.

So tell me - how did the S series development make this possible?

It's a parts bin showcase special - nothing more, nothing less. Subaru's real development goes into the lighter machines as they are the ones at the sharp end of competition.

Which car was the adjustable suspension first fitted to?
S203...
Car with the nice handling package (arb's etc)
S202
Car that produces the most power... S series.
Cars that have engine tweaks before any other?
S series (just look at the S202, that engine wasnt the same as a spec c in 2002, it was "enhanced" by STi )

First blob eye Spec C type ra... 2005, S203...
The S203 was released before the first Spec C type RA and had that very same suspension set up.
S series = developement, all bits on it before the Spec C's, they also come with all the goodies you would find on a Spec C, engine and transmission oil coolers etc, they are Subaru's and STi's glory cars because they are showing you the future, the Spec C isnt because it is a developement from the S series in parts, though another light weight S series car would be nice

Tony,

Subaru tried to show us the way with the VF42..... I then went to Powerstation and Turbo Dynamics and they then showed the way on bettering the VF42!

I'll stick with my "old" Spec C and also get my coat!

Regards,
Shaun.

Who said the crieria was purely a focused drivers car... there are many more factors in my choice. You can keep the spec C, i'll take the fancy parts bin number but may add as many STi logos as feasibly possible

The best impreza to ever leave the production line?

That could be viewed as a trick question?

All cars are produced on the 'main' production line in Japan, but the early STI's (V 1&2?) were removed to have manual fettling of STI parts. So technically, they left the line incomplete.

Also the same for P1's and WR1's which left incomplete and were finished off in the UK.

I might be wrong, but I thought the 22B was sidelined to s special line somewhat as well?

Later STI's and UK Standard (no PPP) cars did come off the main lines.

Obviously, the higher the spec for a given year, the better the car is expected to be. Newer cars will obviously outshine older cars, - as that is progress.

I thought the 22b where made by another arm of Subaru (One that makes buses) due to the width not fitting on the production line/spraying bay.

Of all the Scoobs I've been in the best by far for handling/get up and go is a Bug eye Spec C RA, no creature comforts though but it'll make you **** your pants
