It never ceases to amaze me the ppl that come oh here and flame like **** about something when they have been caught "bang to rights" FFS!
What is wrong with you ppl? Lolz0rs.
Jees, i got a parking ticket, FFS pay it and stfu moaning about being done by the book.
I am happy it is just a fine and contains no points, why cant you think the same?
Oh and BTW, nice car and them white wheels look mint.
Very nice indeed. Now thats the kinda classic i like to see, unmolested by chav decals, etc, etc.

What is the difference between that ??
Next question, any ideas where to put a new plate where its not going to obstruted the FMIC
Nutta, i also said when i drive off i attach the big plate that was sat on the floor inside the car, but if i left it attacthed whilst park around that area it'd be gone

If it wasn't taxed, but, wasn't in anybody's way would you expect it to not get clamped then towed??

Just seems to me that your making a big deal about getting a ticket when you're not with your car, but at the end of the day, as you said, it's an illegally sized plate, so you get what you pay for. In your case a fine.
Why should a copper act differently to a traffic warden (SCUM) just because they don't have the same employer?
A traffic warden can IIRC fine/report you for an illegal number plate, so whats the difference?
Harsh fact of life I'm afraid.

Our number plates are held in holders that screw to the car and you slide the plate into it.
So I took the splitter off the bumper bolted the holder to the splitter, refitted the splitter to the bumber and clipped the plate in.
I could not find anywhere else to fit the plate other than there. unfortunately there are now 2 bolt holes in the splitter but I can't imagine ever taking the plate off again so not a real problem.

Yeah well there is no reason why you can't, I can get the holders from my dealer and can also get you a number plate made up that is correctly spaced and EU approved. IIRC the plates are €6 each.
PS I can only get the front plate as both our plates are white.

would probably be about €10 all in and whatever postage is.
as for fitting, if you have a splitter then no probs, or if you want to fix it to your bumper then also should not be a problem there are numerous mounting holes already made in the mounting holder. Just decide where you want it punch 2 holes in the bumper/splitter and bolt it on using nuts bolts and washers. About 5 mins and job done.

As far as I am aware our plates are the same size as yours and are also white and reflective. They also get stamped with a EU mark.
Here is another plate I had made up for meets and shows etc, as we have them in holders you just swap them out when you get to the meet etc.

TBH mate I would wait until you get a splitter and then fix it to that at an angle like mine, I think the bumper is to steep to fit it properley.

Nope because our plates are pressed out of metal.
as for getting nicked nope it won'T get nicked as you slide the palte into the holder from the bottom and it is held in by lugs round the sides and top, then when it is in you have a bottom that clips on securing it inplace, there is a special pair of pliers needed to remove the bottom as it is a tight fit, but you can pop them off if you have a bit of practice.
Plus why would anyone want to kick your plate, nobody should bat an eyelid at it surely.
