surely if you are tricked into something and it can be proved a statement or something would work

is this lass for real.
yeah, she could fail to put the father on the BC, but, when she reaches financial difficulty, which it very much sounds like she will, (doesnt seem to have proven so far shes all there) she can easily have the CSA hunt him down.
Unfortunatly for hime, it takes 2 to make a critter, he should have taken his own measures to prevent this.
hard fact and a lesson i hope am never on the recieving end of

i am absolutely staggered at the lengths this women went to have a baby !!
FFS, there are better reasons to have a realtionship than for a baby.
It saddens me at this news....
always thought the fairer sex were mad as a box of frogs, but I quite liked their odd ways, usually quite endearing, but this is just beyond a joke !!!
feel sorry for both parties

Come on Tony we don't know the full story but from what has been posted it was an act of desperation. A last resort, heck it was foolhardy to say the least but it showed the depth of feeling this lady had. As the saying goes mistake in haste repent at your leisure and ultimately she is the one left holding the baby.

no we dont know the full story, doesnt stop us voicing our opinions at the bit we have been given though...
my point still remains, it is a bit sad at the lengths she went..we dont know her full reasons for doing it.
the female mind is quite something sometimes....no wonder we get labelled as being simple

Not read all the thread so may be repeating something...
All she has to do is leave the father blank / not known on the birth cert' and tell CSA or whoever that she doesn't know who the father is. That way he'll avoid being stung.
What she can't stop is her own mind changing in a few years when she's a struggling single mum and he ex bf is living it up. Then she may decide she wants him to cough up for "his" kid!

Agreed!
If she doesn't claim then they won't chase. Simple.
My brother pays maintance money to his ex for his lad, it was all agreed between them and the authorities have never got involved.
But surely if she makes a statement like that, then when the case went to court, as it would if he refuses point blank to pay, then the letter has to be a water tight defence, but if she doesn't want his money, she won't claim and it wont matter.......will it
Oh and Sara, i'd get a new friend.

Nah I'll pass if it's all the same. Not my style even if it renders me 'a little bed selling weasel'. How is your bed BTW?

will this prevent any agencies saying he is responsible for the childs upkeep during its dependent years?
only sensible replies please

If your friend is a half decent person, and she wants a baby, she should shut up and put up
By all means have the child if that's what she wants... but it is what *she*wants...and there's always a price to pay for what you want in life.
Have the child, support and provide for it and tell her to leave the bloke, the state and any other soft option she can find .............and get on with the hardest job she will ever do
It's what she wants, isn't it
