A baby is not a pawn in a game. It is a human life. What will she say to the kid when it's old enough? 'Oh your father didnt want you', or will she be honest enough to say ' We were coming to the end of our relationship and I became pregnant in a devious and dishonest way in an attempt to save it'. I don't think the child would have much respect for her either way.
If she is dead set in keeping it, she needs to do as other have said on here and do the decent thing.
I might have missed this bit but if she hasnt told him he is going to be a dad then she should. Assure him that she is not going to make a claim on him as she got herself into this situation but give him the option of being involved if he wants to.
She should then have the kid, support it herself, and just move on. She was stupid in thinking that this would be a cure.

Agree entirely:
However, there is a nasty bite in the benefits system.
Say she became ill, or something happened where she could no longer work and support the child and applies for benefits...guess who has to pay the maintanence? It's the first place the CSA will look, regardless of any pre-arranged agreements
