What a coincidence, eh
Seriously though, feel sorry for you mate. Best thing to do is go out tonight with some mates, have a few beer's and pick up some younger better looking girl. You'll feel better

You will eventually realise you have had a lucky escape, all I can say is sorry to hear your news, but enjoy your new toys and holiday that you are going to be getting/having!!

Isnit time we had a personal advice section to help fellow netters with personal problems?

Probably the first women to post on here but I really feel for you. It must have come as such a shock. I hope you feel better soon and the trip away to see your friend sounds like a good idea.
I know relationships end everyday but what would be nice is if people were a bit moe honest and upfront about it, i think leaving a note is guttless, she should have talked to you and explained the situation.
oh well , as they say plenty more fish in the sea , have a good time and enjoy yourself.

I do feel for you.
In some situations you have to look at it from both sides though. I once had to leave the home I shared with a partner and left a note. I wasn't being gutless; I just knew he would physically stop me from leaving - when that was the one thing I could do that was best for both of us. I already had his hand print bruised round the top of my arm which work mates noticed earlier that week and encouraged me to leave; no way was I putting myself in a situation for another! I went back home that week.
Fair enough he hates my guts now - but you can bet your bottom dollar he is a hell of a lot happier now, as am I!
By no means am I saying that's what happened with you. But sometimes it's for the best to finish it quietly and both of you to get on with your lives. Maybe you need some proper closure - give it time, you'll get it.
