my scooby made 400bhp at abby motor sport

Who knows , but the 66bhp loss seems more realistic.
Like I said.... dont read too much in to dyno figures in isolation as there are more things than just peak figures to make a fast car.
Regards,
Shaun.

Thing that still bothers me is why you changed the ecu to a HKS one? you just threw money away there basically
As for the printouts, quite interesting, not sure about the 1308lbs of torque it says in one of them though
The 1.26bar of boost it reasonable though, but your power wont be as high as you wanted, more around 320bhp? it seems to have been mapped for midrange torque (which is what you want by looking at those graphs as it holds nicely ) but you could have just remapped your standard ecu for considerably less and got the same figures (looks like they have gone for longivity rather than out and out performance).

Would you have been upset if you would have been left by another scoob that looked pretty standard? I think so and finding out that it has say 350bhp, would have either made you wonder if your car had a serious problem (and given you some grey hairs) or if there was another problem leading to the spending of more cash....
Best thing to do is take your car to a rolling road day, run it with 20 other cars and see what you get, that way you will get a better picture of what sort of power you have for your mods v everyone else

Jesus you boys talk some ****e.
HKS ecu why throwing your money away???
I will ask you all some questions, how come you cant agree on how much power is lost through a subaru transmission!! Surely with the best UK scooby tuners on here you would know the exact transmission losses, How can this be measured as a percentage?? If you have 2 scoobys with identical transmission setups, one with 1000hp/one with 100bhp and 10% transmission loss then one car losses 100hp & the other only losses 10hp how can this be??

Of course transmission loss would be relative. It is reasonable for a tuner to quote losses as a reasonable percentage given a certain horsepower.
However for a rolling road other factors such as oil temp, oil grade, tyre pressure, tyre size, which gear, diff type, DCCD or DCCD-A, open or locked, five speed or six speed etc, etc all impact transmission loss figures.
So I am sure that most tuners could give a reasonable figure for transmission loss knowing all those variables, and like any other car it would be an educated guess at best
So is Tim's old car delivering the goods yet. Still love to see his NUR spec running, my favourite Skyline

Steve,
I think they may simply have misjudeged the transmission losses for a Subaru - simple as that.
Even on a rolling road that level of 'loss' would be high - over a 100bhp.
Given your car - and without any other information - assuming the standard turbo - it is probably running around 330-340bhp at the flywheel.
Hey - 260-270 at the wheels - will make for a very quick car

My car was fitted with a power FC ecu at Zen and mapped up on the road by Paul, I thought the car was running great but wanted to know the power figures. I booked into Abbey motor sport for a rolling road session. My car produced 293 bhp at the hubs. Dan was well impressed with the ECU work and tweaked the map slightly top end and thats all. 293 bhp at the street.
. That's where it counts. On the road, the final thing in any car power wise is delivered to the street and all the scientific blah blah can only explain so much, be happy with what you got.
STI prodrive I am sure your car is loads better now, more responsive and a real pleasure to drive. To all the other Muppet's on here, please remember when you first got you car, before you knew too much, when you enjoyed yourself, before all the technical bullsh!t got in you way, when you where just getting going, when you where driving your Astra. Remember.
you where still enjoyintg yourself then(where you?)
