. That's where it counts. On the road, the final thing in any car power wise is delivered to the street and all the scientific blah blah can only explain so much, be happy with what you got.
STI prodrive I am sure your car is loads better now, more responsive and a real pleasure to drive. To all the other Muppet's on here, please remember when you first got you car, before you knew too much, when you enjoyed yourself, before all the technical bullsh!t got in you way, when you where just getting going, when you where driving your Astra. Remember.
you where still enjoyintg yourself then(where you?)

I don't think anyone on here really meant to offend you. I definatly didn't. It was just the fact that you were claiming something most people on here know to be unobtainable (from the situation) and so came down on you a bit hard. Lots of people post up stupid claims and it just ends up with people who make mistakes getting a real hard time when they didn't mean to!.
Good luck with the car and i'd listen to any advice you get off a lot of the guys on here.. i've had loads of help with my car from different people on here.. and i guess thats what its all about
Anyway good luck with the car

Calling people on here ******* really ain't going to get you anywhere. If you think like that.. then whats the point posting on here..
I personally think theres some really sound and helpfull people on here..
Being big headed and cocky is bound to get people having a go..

I hope she persists as there are some decent users out there just maybe need to do some research to sort the bad from the good?

I see that the defintion of a ****** seems to include people who give advice based on running the fastest Impreza in Europe, possibly the world, and probably the tuner who has remapped more Imprezas in the UK than anybody else.
Strange definition -
Probably the same w@nkers who drove Keith out of the TOTB Skyline team because he has easily the fastest Skyline in Europe
Steve,
there are some people on here with a huge amount of advice who can help you get to 400bhp if that is what you want.
Advising someone to fit an HKS ECU for example was probably advice from someone who saw a customer who was 'not shy on the cash'.
It is possible to run 400bhp on the standard ECU using the right mapper who is experienced with Subaru.
Look in the projects section and you will see how people have done it.

Sssh mate lest you are classed as a ****@r! Mr.Begley is a very a bitter man. Notwithstanding that Jun Superlemon is an awesome car it was humbled by Andy F.'s Impreza. Then again maybe that was more to do with his driving skills than the car

I thought that in Japan the Lemon did a low 9s run - or was it in the 8s. All I know is that Tim kept buying Skylines that were VERY fast in Japan but he always got better results with hsi own original NUR Spec.
They are all awesome cars.

Hmmm, let me see, Andy.F at 9.3 vs Lemon at 10.2. DO you expect mick to lie? The Lemon is a full up road car, not a race car.
You don't need to be Einstein to be an armchair racer!
stiprodrive, Just be happy with the 290+hp at the hubs, it's a good figure, and the graph looks like it should drive well on the road. If anyone asks what power it makes, you can say it makes 296(?) at the hubs and leave it at that. There will be plenty of people that will assume near 400hp and those that will say near 350. But you've got your benchmark now so like bohnjegley says, just enjoy it.

STiprodrive, basically Rannoch said what I would have put, they saw you coming and ripped you off on the ECU and possably some other bits?
Always look into what you want doing by people who do that sort of vehicle all the time and dont just look local, look around the country.
A guy at work needs a clutch and flywheel for his scoob, he was quoted from 975 quid to 1300 quid, i got him a quote of 705 quid (from a main dealer) which opened his eyes (and yes they are probably one of the best if not THE best subaru authorised dealers in the country ) and they also do remapping and other bits
Always remember that advice is free, ring about before buying and those people who normally do work on lots of scoobs will give you the info you need, not out and out guess work or stupid figures and silly bits like "oh you need xxx ecu fitting because its better than your standard one and we can do more with it and we cant remap your standard one etc etc etc".
Enjoy your car (though a JDM one would have been considerably better value and more fun ) and dont go do places that dont do scoobs, its like taking a mondeo to a peugeot speciallist
Tony
