A factory standard Spec C isnt pushed at all really, ive seen these tuned to 360bhp and 380+lbs of torque with just an exhaust and remap, its a considerably better car than a uk spec and mine has no problems keeping up with 350bhp uk/jdm spec cars (mines running 318bhp) plus no need to change the headers etc as they are different to the uk ones

stiprodrive, Just be happy with the 290+hp at the hubs, it's a good figure, and the graph looks like it should drive well on the road. If anyone asks what power it makes, you can say it makes 296(?) at the hubs and leave it at that. There will be plenty of people that will assume near 400hp and those that will say near 350. But you've got your benchmark now so like bohnjegley says, just enjoy it.

I don't expect anything from someone who tried to get Andy F. thrown out of TOTB V on weak pretexts like lack of interior and type of fuel. However you aren't exactly Andy's biggest fan are you? Did you not resort to very personal insults at one time about Andy's hair

Edited to say there were also moans about Andy's tyres too.

You know that's funny. Andy's lack of hair and pensioner status always bring a smile to my face! I'll make sure to let him know about this thread, even though I thought it was about results achieved at abbey!?

You don't need to worry about Andy, his old enough and ugly enough to look after himself.

The same could be said about Mr.Begley the old enough and ugly enough bit not the hair and age bit. Although I feel your motivation for posting was possibly due to Andy being mentioned

The Zen master does not reveal his secrets......

But the haters on this thread should ease up. Mick Begley is a sound chap, perhaps we should actually meet people before we cast aspersions about them.

It's all to easy to get sucked into witch hunts on the internet, this thread is a case in point. stiprodrive just wanted to let people know about his positive experience, and he got shot down straight away. It was down to a select few people to advise him on how best to interpret his figures. It doesn't mean his car is any less nice to drive, or that he is any less happy to own it. And before you know it everyone jumps on the bandwagon and starts having a go at Mick desipite the Lemon being such an iconic car among the jap scene. Maybe we are all a bunch of ******* if we send someone packing with insults when they not even made 10 posts!

The Zen master has spoken, haw haw.

But Paul did he or did he not try to get Andy F. banned from TOTB V. Please answer this truthfully.

All I know is that some GTR owners competing in TOTB expressed concerns over Andy's car. Mick questioned Andy's car at the redline rumble, however, Andy has since added things like mirrors, wipers etc. As for getting people "banned" you'll have to ask either Chris@TOTB or mick or whoever.

Car looks really good Samco hose kits can be had from Graham Goode Racing or any Subaru accessory supplier. Front mount kits are two a penny now but get something half decent like a Hyperflow as they are easier to fit.

You dont need one with the power you have, if you did fit one then your warranty is out of the window (well it is already) and you would need another remap (more money).
The TMIC can run a good 360+bhp, ive seen them on cars pushing 400bhp and still doing a good job
If you wanted a car that had a fmic then you should have bought an evo
Should add that some driver training may come in handy

£800 on FMIC including remap and fitting or two days with Don Palmer.

One will GUARANTEE you will be significantly faster in your car.

It ain't the FMIC

On a more serious note, what are you trying to solve with the FMIC? Are there charge temperature issues?

What a thread.
I'm sure there are about 5 threads woven into the original 'opener'.

One thing I have recently read is Paul/Zen's comment to actually meet or even speak in person to some of the people on here and other threads before sending them to the gallows.

I have had the pleasure to meet AndyF/Steven D and Davis Wallis and precious few others sadly, but they are all top draw people.

To the starting thread, if the guy is happy with the '400' bhp so be it.
Question it maybe, analize it all for sure, but it is the way the car drives that counts if you are chasing a particular goal, be it a 1/4 mile, a 50 second hillclimb or blowing the doors off someone at Time Attack.
Or getting the buzz from a road car!

Maybe I've just added another weave to this lot, didn't realy mean to but there is too much people knocking; several on here realy do know their facts based on real experience from which I for one have learnt from.

Less knocking and more listening helps everyone, inc me.

Graham

(probably grumpy due to age and doing the garden all bank holiday.)

You are neither old nor grumpy Graham...yet I echo your comments about meeting people something which I may be guilty of! However I met Andy F. a few years ago at Well Lane when he had his other Impreza the white one. He was a complete and utter genuine top bloke. Not only did he not mind me poking my nose into his bonnet (and filming), he was only too happy to answer any questions thrown at him. For the record he got 420 bhp on the rollers that day, oh and he had driven down from Scotland with a straight cut gearbox!
