Just thought I would bring this back up to the top....

Since starting full time school, a few things have started to be noticed about him and I have an appointment this afternoon so the school can start a folder of him and keep a record of how he is and so they know he has "problems" and not just a naughty child

At last someone is taking notice !!!! :

That doesn't sound right?

Are you sure they're not gathering evidence to have him expelled? I just don't see what benefit a record of his antics will afford.......

For reference for other teachers should they need it, also as back up for me should I need it to show doctors and / or health professionals to make sure I get the correct diagnosis.

So are you saying that 'as yet' he hasn't been diagnosed by a medical professional or child behavioural specialist?

And the school will maintain 'a log' on his behaviour without a request/advice from a competent medical / health person?

He is getting referred from one paediatrician to another and although they agree on most of his symptoms, he hasn't as yet had a diagnosis.

THey often look to schools for a back up of behaviour difficulties, as they don't often just take the parent's word for it.

With just moving areas, we have new doctors etc, so now have to start being seen by different people.

Forgot to say, another reason for today's appointment is becaue they have noticed a few things with my son and want to discuss it too. They are a good school and do take on children with various disabilities, but they need to be aware of the child and the problems they have
