Car would be worth around £10-12k private if the mileage and condition holds up. If it's an import, ask for the auction sheet. Standard cars, unmodified will be Grade 4 or 4.5 (for exceptional cases only)
Anything lower means the car has damage (maybe small dinks here and there) or modifications.
Note also that this is a V-Spec model so has a better set up and kit as standard.

White is also the preferred colour (despite most going on about midnight purple) as it's the lucky colour in Japan.

RB26DETT engines are bomb proof, I see no reason why you wouldn't want to buy it and keep it to be honest.

They now can't find the Log Book as the house is being cleared and everything is all over the place - I don't doubt the honesty of it one bit .... they just want the garage cleared.

If your getting one because you want to own a Gtr, then ill suggest to get a r32 Gtr, as it makes more sense to own one.
and if your looking to make some dollars, make sure you dont end up loosing the ones you already have.
if you thought scoobies made a hole in your pocket, then get ready to remortgage your house cuz a skyline gtr is one hungry beast mate.

And what looks like a bargain at 6k, will eventually cost you the same or more, knowing that it will require work in current or later stage.
Insurance, maintanence and other essential running costs are insanely expensive. If its skyline which has been run and pampered by a cared uk owner, it would be a different story all together. These cars demand care, attention and obviously a reasonable chunk of your money
So i'd personally walk away if its history is unknown.
However, best of luck and make sure you do your homework before you get it into it.

A typical engine rebuild on a rb26dett will cost near about 5k. An engine from the breakers with warranty will cost you around about 3.5k.
So not only are they bomb proof.. they cost a bomb !!
Imagine a choice over rebuilding a skyline engine or buying a decent spec running classic scooby. ???

So, if you have extra cash use it on donations mate - instead of burning it.

PSL is on the wind up.

6k for a Skyline thats done 20,000 miles even Andy Pipkin knows thats a good price!

Despite it being sat in the garage for ages with a lost log book. Its got 12 months Tax and a brand new 12 month MOT, why get 12 months tax if your trying to sell it, who insured it so it could get a tax disc.

PSL says its a, quote, "Banger" caus its 11 years old with 20k on the clock. In your world that make your 11 year old MX5 with 60k a "worn out old banger that smells of wee"!!

It must get tedious having April Fools Day every day in the Lewis household, only question is whether he bucks the trend & tells the truth on the 1st April each year ?

Pete,

Only a couple of miles away if you want a second opinion !

Well, things have taken a turn ..... it 'had' 12 months tax & MOT, its actually just 8 months and the MOT is also 8 months!!

Reason being is that the owner, who is no more, had advertised it in May time - he got no offers or interested parties then ..... advert read 'open to offers as must sell'.

The family haven't a clue what it is - they just found his hand written card that was in the shop window (or even about to go into the window).

Anyway - they found the Log Book and advert and MOT and Tax all neatly stored in a Folder with all the history .... old MOTs, old Tax Discs, Service sheets from Nissan and someone else, tyre receipts, brake invoices and stuff.

From what I can see from the replies is that, even at £6k, its a liability!! Thanks for putting me off it (I actually didn't really like the look of it anyway - white and all) and 11 years old - looking for trouble with aged components?

I have told them today that I don't want it at £6k and maybe they should be asking a bit more for it.

I recommended that they just ask for 'OFFERS' in the AutoTrader or something ... they are so old-fashioned that they only want to put it in the Local Village weekly paper and the Post Office window!! Hardly going to get much response there!! ................. but they won't listen!!

They are religious and believe that the Lord will send the person who should have the car and who will pay a just price .... I don't know!!?? If anyone who knows what the car is actually sees the advert then they will get a bargain I suppose?? They say it is the best offer takes it - and that could well be £6k or LESS!

I'm on Holiday now for a week .... but I'll see what interest they have had in it when I return!
